Me and my dad go here as much as we can! Of course he goes much more than I do, but we love his place. It is always our go to whenever he is working. Great service, yummy food. Love how friendly everyone is and love the southern hospitality. :)

They serve breakfast and lunch. We were at the end of serving hours but food was still very good. It is a diner type establishment; lunch plate has meat and two sides. Our bunch enjoyed fried catfish, chicken fried steak and pork chops. Service was efficient and friendly.

I was looking forward to the biscuits, the travel channel made them look so good. The place was perfect. A tiny little dinner with retro seating. It was easy to find and the people where nice. But the food fell short. I love biscuits and gravy, I could eat them with every meal. The biscuits where good but the gravy... More

Great place for a good old fashion southern homemade breakfast in downtown Atlanta. Their red eye gravy is on point.

Great friendly old diner restaurant. It is small inside but feels roomy. Booths are very roomy. This establishment has been the set for many movies. Fast, friendly service. We had breakfast. My hubs had the Chicken Fried Steak with gravy. It was fabulous...much like my own country cookin'. I had the 2 egg breakfast with grits, biscuits and sausage. Amazing!!!!... More

The Silver Skillet was featured in a “Triple D” episode on the Food Network as well as a special on Atlanta restaurants on the travel channel. We visited just before lunch on our way to the High Museum of Art which is only an easy 20 minute walk away. The servers were friendly. Note that the lunch menu is only... More

When planning our trip to Atlanta we made it a point to come and have a meal at Silver Skillet. Definitely did not disappoint! We had breakfast here. I had the country ham with the red eye gravy. Very tasty very tender. The grits were the best I've had anywhere. Fabulous food , great service a winning combination for us!... More

The Silver Skillet is an Atlanta institution, well known for their breakfast and famous as a location for any number of film and video shoots. It oozes character with its homey atmosphere and waitresses. While I think of the Silver Skillet as a breakfast joint, they also serve a pretty mean lunch. I recently ordered the Thanksgiving dinner with turkey... More

Went on a Sunday morning. Had to wait in line but it was well worth it. Large portions, fast service and a historic venue. Has been there since the 1950's. We'd highly recommend this diner.

Being a southern girl thought I'd see how close to true southern food it really was. As I've learned not all places that say southern cooking really are. And that's a shame. I can say this is the real deal. They have the Best biscuits I've ever eaten. Wanted to try the country ham with red eye gravy. I've read... More
