After spending a week in Atlanta, we finally had a southern meal I can rave about. OMG this restaurant was amazing--perfect services, so many wonderful sounding choices on the menu, reasonable prices, good cocktails--you name it, it was wonderful. We had the lemonade-thyme cocktails, and...More

South City Kitchen is one of the best places for Southern Food Period! The interior is very homey and comforting with high ceilings and pine colored furnishing. The outdoor patio is enclosed and heated which is perfect for the sunny but freezing days. The service...More

We started with the fried green tomatoes which were great! Then we had she crab soup and smoked trout crostini. The trout crostini lacked flavor and I feel could have been better executed. We split the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collards for dinner...More

The food here is very good and diverse with specialty dishes. My only complaint is that it can be VERY loud.

Venison was flavorful as you would expect, and Pork Chop was thick but tender. Biscoits are a bit addictive, but not spectacular. Ambiances feels a bit fabricated, as they pack as many folks as possible into it. Overall, very good - but not great.

Southern food for the refined palette. Nice decor, great menu. Great atmosphere...we ate in the bar which wasn't as upscale (what we wanted). Wait staff was full of suggestions.

Fried green tomatoes appetizer was spot on. This place has some history and they know what they are doing. Opens at 10 for brunch, get here before 11 to avoid a wait. Service was great. Had the pulled pork sandwich which comes which thin slices...More

I don’t believe there is a private room. The restaurant is lively and can be loud.

Description
Celebrating over 18 year as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine with a sophisticated twist. Combining the energy of Atlanta with the warmth of a Southern home, the restaurant is nestled in an updated, historic bungalow on the city's famous Crescent Avenue. Dine on local Southern favorites such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the city skyline on one of the best patios in the city. This truly is dining the way the new South intended.
