The place is hot and muggy. I guess the AC was broken. Hostess needs customer service training. Despite having reservations, we were left standing off to the side, even though there were open tables. Management wasn't very helpful either. But worst of all a fly...flew in our food.More

A friend and I visited the southern gentleman for dinner on a sunday night. I found it to be loud ,hot and with no organization. The staff wore their mask under their nose and seem to be a bit overwhelmed. We had the oysters on...the half shell and they taste like they were drowned in lime juice, the butter lettuce salad was just a bowl of lettuce with celery shavings and a hint of dressing. The main course wasn't any better the fried chicken left much to be desired and the lack of common condiments was beyond me. Considering how much searching it took for us to even find this place I thought I would be in for a treat but that was not the case.More

I saw an ad for this place on social media for months now and decided to visit for brunch. There is a parking garage but if you’re new to the plaza you’re likely to get lost as I did looking for this place on the...2nd floor. I had a reservation but they understood when I informed them I was confused searching for the steps to get there. Otherwise the ambiance is causal and I like the bar area. Staff and service was friendly. I had the banana bread French toast and it was absolutely delicious! My fiancée had the burger with the special bacon jam and fries. I didn’t get a drink since it was 1PM but needless to say I was impressed and will be back. I’d recommend for a nice brunch and will try a mimosa next time!More

My visit was on a chilly Monday evening in January, but the spot still seemed Covid safe enough to visit. They have an extensive whiskey collection, so I had what turned out to be a great Old Fashioned. For food, I ordered the caramelized beet...salad to start, and their fried chicken for my main. The starter was quite good, but the fried chicken was simply awesome. Overall, I had a great time here (with the possible exception of having almost too attentive service) - would definitely check it out again!More

Just had brunch at the Southern gentleman. I really wanted to like it, but I found it underwhelming. Our service was really bad, I would say the food fine, but nothing special. Also, the website talks about all their Covid and social distancing measures, but...there was absolutely no social distancing of any sort inside the restaurant---no extra spacing place between tables/customers whatsoever. We sat on the patio, and the tables might have been 6 feet apart, but could have been better. I certainly wouldn't go back based on the current safety measures, but the experience overall was not great and for the price, I'd expect a lot more.More

My husband and I went here for my birthday in September. We went again tonight for my husbands birthday. I don’t know if it was because it was a slow night (Monday) or what but this genuinely not only sucked but we experienced the worst...service we’ve ever had in our history of dining. There was a dark super long hair baked into the rolls we ordered. I bit straight into it and had to pull the hair out of my mouth. Saw it was baked in through and through the roll. As we watched our server sit at a table and stare at us for the longest he finally came out when our entrees were ready. We told our server and he looked me straight in the face and said “it looks blonde” very accusatory as he laughed (I’m long blonde). I ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY had to pull the hair on both sides of the roll to prove I wasn’t lying and that I didn’t just wrap my own hair around it. How dare you accuse someone of lying like that. Once I “proved” it to him -NO APOLOGY THE ENTIRE DISASTER- he said “okay I’ll take the rolls off the bill”. He would not acknowledge the situation, alert the kitchen, or alert management even though he was very aware how upset I was. But had enough nerve to ask if we wanted dessert. We drove over an hour to celebrate my husbands birthday and this is the embarrassment we got. We’ve gotten better service at a cheap chain like Longhorns with better staff (who would actually alert their management to make it right after something as bad as that) while this place charges over $100 to snub you and make you feel horrible after. Would not recommend.More

Very nice new brunch menu. Highly recommend the multi grain bowl. Spicy, but excellent! Kudos to our waiter, Kevin. He is awesome!

This is a good spot for two or ten. My wife and I had dinner at this spot around 6pm, Shannon made us feel quite comfortable and welcome. Having vegetarian requests sometimes create a challenge, however Shannon and Alex made sure we had options. The...large party in the more secluded area also seemed quite comfortable, and yet we experienced no distractions. The food was good and the service even better. I would definitely recommend.More

Super service and great meal. Had carrot soup and kale salad with lamb chops and flounder. Everything was nicely presented and very flavorful! Great creamsicle dessert and craft cocktails too! Will return

We were seated in the glassed in terrace area and we truly couldn't hear each other. The food was decent, but nothing oustanding. We were there for brunch and the menu was pretty limited. I might try it again but would request a seat in...the main dining room.More
