A charming restaurant run by a charming mother and daughter where you eat good local food at a good local price. We are going back in the spring for artichoke season. CAN'T WAIT!

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel that did not do food on Sunday evenings. Good atmosphere, nice people but 8 euros for a tomato salad? Don't think so. Food was alright - liked the bottles vegetables, but at the end of the night wished I had researched more widely in Monachil.

La Cantina de Diego is a charming little restaurant in the hills above Granada. We enjoyed our meal sat on the terrace as the sun set. The staff are the nice and the food is good - tasty, simple Spanish dishes - but not great; certainly not good enough to justify the price tag.

Gorgeous little restaurant with great local dishes with the chef's own spin. Portions were large and the waitress recommended we order two starts and a main to share. We started with the mussels in garlic and green beans with jamon (both daily specials) and ended the meal with the entrecote steak. The beans were really fresh and the steak was... More

A little bit more expensive than some others nearby but worth it. The service on arriving was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. Menu is small but good options. A good wine list. I ordered the sirloin with duck, it was cooked perfectly. They also had daily specials, two of our group had these (tbone and tuna... More

We walked here for dinner while staying at La Almunia del Valle hotel, up the lane. We got caught in a heavy rain shower but the staff came to our rescue with clean towels and a hairdryer so we could dry off. We had a lovely meal here - steak with a very fresh salad. Some good red wine, and... More

My daughter and I went to Granada for the Easter weekend. We were steered to this restaurant by a review in the Michelin guide. Although we were at the Alhambra Palace Hotel, about 15 minutes away by car, we decided to make the trip to nearby Monachil for dinner. The resulting experience was well worth the trip. The restaurant is... More

Excellent steak. Nice place just in front the Monachil river. Service was good. Don't miss their famous Marcelina cake for desserts.

I stayed in the village Monachil with my two sons and had dinner in La Cantina after a beautiful sunny day on piste of Sierra Nevada. We enjoyed the nice ambiance with the open fire. The friendly hostess suggested the steak after a day in the snow. A perfect advise. Balanced salad, excellent steak and don't forget to order the... More

We were looking for something easy and small to eat, but the only restaurant we found was this. And it suprised us, we had a very good salad to start and an incredible duck. We were served by what I assumed was the daughter of the owner. She did a very good job, she made this dinner light-weighted and fun.... More
