We had breakfast here on two days of our visit. The menu is completely limited but if you just want something simple accompanied by great coffee, tea or hot chocolate, then this meson is perfect. Staff are a little less friendly than other places but are no less efficient and the service is good. Try their Jambon, quesa and tamate... More

Sitting in the square, watching the world go by. Doesn't get much better than this. Directly opposite the ancient church, in the village square, lovely calming time. Only word of warning, if you don't like cats, brace yourself, they congregate to sunbathe in the square, but so do we!!

The room looked pleasant, the welcome was friendly, the menu was predictable, and we looked forward to a plain meal. We ordered glasses of rosado with our meal. When the wine arrived, it was horrible: brown, smelled like cheap sherry, tasted like cheap sherry mixed with water. My Alpujarrena soup was ok, my tortilla de patatas was tasteless, the bread... My wife and I ate here when the restaurant we had hoped to visit was closed (kind of a theme for our trip). Anyway, we sat on the terrace out back and enjoyed the view of the mountains. The starter was fantastic: the famous ham/sausage/cheese from the Alpujarra region. The main course was good, and well-prepared, but nothing spectacular. The... More

We had lunch here and ordered a three course set menu including bread, wine and a salad for 11 EUR. The starter was a very good garlic soup. The main course was more like an English breakfast with ham, sausages and fried eggs. Good traditional food, but nothing special.

The food was quite ordinary. Not memorable but not objectionable. The terrace atmosphere was very nice on a summer evening, facing away from the main street and with some view out across the valley. We did not return, as we found other places in town with much better food and a more memorable experience.

After a long day's hike, any meal is a welcomed delight. At the meson, you get excellent and fast service. The food is home grown and cooked! I felt like it was my grandmother making my meal (she was an excellent cook). Not gourmet, but soul-and-belly-satisfying. If you can, eat on the terrace, you'll have the beautiful views of the... We showed up before the kitchen had opened, were given guidance from the Bartender (Pepe said we ordered too much) but ended up with an extra entree, that turned out to be our favorites. Good experience after a long day.

We had an evening meal here, when the weather was getting cooler (mid-October) and there weren't many other places open. Quite a few walking parties were eating there, and the food was OK but just nothing special. Still can't get used to the idea of eating a relaxing evening meal with all the lights on full - no atmosphere at... More
