This was our first experience with the Trevelez ham and we were not prepared for the salty flavour. Our salad was good and in hindsight probably the ham was too. Just a surprise for us first time around.
I came looking for some local trout, and it was delicious. The sides were above average, I loved the homemade grilled bell pepper and the small cabbage salad was very good. The trout was perfectly cooked and crispy on the outside with lots of flavour....I also had the garlic soup:heavy and salty and garlicky, just as an old-fashioned alpujarra soup should be. Service was very friendly.More
Based on other reviews we chose this place for lunch and were thrilled we did. An English menu materialized for us once it was obvious we don’t speak Spanish. I recommend the pork over coals with two sauces - tender, flavoursome and with a excellent...complement of grilled vegetables, salad, potato and (sheep?) yogurt.More
Located slightly away from the main restaurant/bar area in the lower part of town this was a great find. We had seen it on a previous visit but had eaten at one of the restaurants opposite the bus parking area. We liked the sound of...the menu so decided to take some friends there to try it out for lunch.
We ate outside on the small terrace although there is a large pleasant dining room on the first floor. The staff were friendly from the outset and spoke a little English. I speak Spanish but our friends didn't so a menu in English was welcomed.
Portions were large and the meat very tender. Especially recommended is the fresh trout (caught locally). We also had a fresh sliced tomato salad as a shared starter which was just right for the time of day.
Would highly recommend the restaurant and from my experience is the best in Trevelez.More
We had a family lunch here in the dining room upstairs, which felt very traditional. The salad had more in it than I've ever seen in my life, a real mix. The meat dish was well cooked and very tasty, as we the homemade deserts....The service was efficient even though the place was fairly busy.More
