we stumbled upon Idle Spurs while on a road trip and were delighted with the place. Great steaks, atmosphere and service. The neighborhood is run down but Idle Spurs is an oasis.

The venue itself is EXTREMELY attractive. It houses many interesting exhibits to enjoy browsing through. Our steak dinners, with all-of-the-trimmings, were very good. So too was my... More

I was on a group outing on the Ft. Irwin side of Barstow and everyone said let's go have some dinner. Off we went to Old Highway 58 to the Idle Spurs. The location was the first surprise and then the interior was the next surprise. This is Cracker Barrel 3.0 with real items of local interest. Our group consisted... More

I loved entering the canope of vines, tiny lights and the eclectic atmosphere and decor of this great restaurent. My college roommate and husband brought us here for a different experience and we are so glad they did. Prime rib and chicken were ordered and each one loved what they had. The choice of soup or salad and the veggie... More

Hway 58 is less traveled these days. Well worth the extra effort to come to Idle Spurs. We went here on the Spur of the moment. Thanks to Adam Richman. I ordered the London Broil just like Adam did on his show. I did the right thing ! Potato & chowder. When passing through Barstow I will return to the... More
