I've been searching for months for a way to eat kale. I finally found it here! Our family's dinner had kale topped on two dishes, one served dipped in the deep fryer and the other sauteed. Both were outstanding. Prices were a bit higher than we expected; average entree was $26, with all salads and sides ala carte. The vegetarian... More

We enjoyed dinner outside. Even after a hot day, the area was cool enough and the service was fine. I have to agree with the plaudits that most reviewers have offered. The salad was basic but first rate. My pork with scalloped potatoes was also excellent, and my wife loved her steak. There is an appealing variety to the menu,... More

MC was once one of my 3 favorite restaurants in the Frederick area. However it has been on the decline over the last two years. An example would be their fried chicken. It was once wonderful, crispy, rivaling anyone's best down-home experience. At the last visit it was boneless pieces that looked and tasted like mass produced, processed chicken. Very... More

Had an excellent dining experience on a busy Mothers Day. This place is a few miles south of Frederick, so it is easy to forget with all the other choices around. Everyone in our party was pleased with their meals, crab cakes, quiche, steak and stuffed French toast.

Been to this restaurant a couple times, always a great meal and great drinks. Food is fantastic, lots of local ingredients and the service is always top-notch. The best port chop i think I've ever eaten. A definite must visit when in Frederick.

This was our anniversary dinner, so we went for a place we haven't been to for a while. While it is fine dining, you don't have to wear a suit or tie. We had the crab cakes special- wonderfully seasoned (with a spicy kick) with plenty of large chunks of tasty crab. We also had the pork tenderloin with a... More

We have been coming to Monocacy Crossing for years, and it is still our favorite fine dining restaurant close to home. The free homemade bread is a delicious treat. The Pork Tenderloin with Sage-Cider Sauce and Scalloped Potatoes is one of my standard favorites. Thee fish specials are always wonderful. The 8oz Filet Mignon topped with Garlic Cream, Shallot Mashed... More

We arrived early around 545pm for a 6pm reservation on a Saturday. Seated immediately. Initially service was perfect, but as the night went on and it became full, the service slipped, and it got loud. The restaurant itself, rather than feeling like fine dining, took on more of a diner feel. We had empanadas caprese , which were very good,... More

Monocacy Crossing tries very hard to be upscale and succeeds on food and service, though its ambiance is a little rough around the edges. Most entrees fall between $20 and $30 (in 2016), but the upscale pricing is justified not only by the high quality of the cuisine, but also by the large portion sizes. The menu features modern American... More
