We have eaten many times at Rod's and reserved a table for 3 (parents + 11 year old child) for New Year's Eve 2019. The fixed menu was a real disappointment. The soup was tasteless! I have bought better quality meat at Stop & Shop...and my 11 year old son ordered a shrimp cocktail for an extra $10.95......hm.....the shrimp cocktail contained 4 medium sized shrimp and really "tired" looking lettuce. The service was mediocre and the server should have been taught how to serve wine properly. The only + was the dessert but I am not a sugar person so it really didn't matter at that point. Needless to say, we are not going back. I wonder if the chef and staff has changed???More

My Father in Law treated my wife and I to Christmas Eve dinner at Rod’s. We have dinned there several times before including weddings and Christmas Eve last year. This year we encountered a significant drop in quality. The dinner features a limited list of...entrees and each selection includes an appetizer and dessert for one price. Prices are high and we expected a high degree of excellence. I selected the prime rib dinner and started with crab bisque soup. The soup was very tasty but served only at a warm temperature. The prime rib was excellent and cooked as ordered but the two included small potatoes were hard and undercooked. My wife said her carrots were completely hard. My green beans were perfectly done and hot. Our desserts were perfect. We each ordered a cocktail which although tasting good, were mostly ice and about 2 swallows, definitely not worth the price. Our service was good and the carolers that sang at each table were excellent. To add to our dismay we were seated in the farthest table in the log cabin room, next to a door to a storage closet. Staff constantly moved furniture in an out during our dinner which was very disturbing not to mention a cold air blast each time the door opened. There were many open tables and our table should not have been used. All in all the dinner provided the ambiance of a factory and we left disappointed and will not return on a holiday again.More

Having worked in the area for some time I've had the pleasure dining at Rod's a few occasions. Classic elegance and a extensive menu as well as great service are reasons to dine here. On my recent visit for lunch we were seated upstairs and...were actively attended to. Menus delivered, water and bread and butter set promptly. This visit we had escargot, the crab bisque and roasted asparagus and some crisp Sauvigon Blanc. It was all delicious.More

It was a free meal but I don’t know how much I can really complain. The only thing I thought was good was the fillet mignon.Everything else the Caesar salad the crème brûlée the bread was Soso. The crème brûlée in particular was terrible.

We were celebrated a 50th anniversary with the family in one of the dining car rooms. It was a great choice since we had the room to ourselves and the 3 year old could bounce about as she pleased. It was the Sunday buffet so...everyone had their fill. The choices were numerous and they all were top quality ingredients expertly prepared.More

We love going to Rod's for special occasions or a date night. The staff is so efficient. The atmosphere is sophisticated, but not pretentious. The food is consistently excellent. Despite the non-healthy choice I make, I have to have roast beef. It's made to perfection....We never feel rushed and are well-taken care of.More

Great service from Abe, 3 nights in a row. Food and presentation was good as ever. Nice selection of beef and side. The martinis are very good, filled to the brim without spillage.
