We discovered Pamir in its old location years ago and it quickly became our favorite. When it moved into the center of Morristown some years back, it lost perhaps a touch of its authentic Afghan quality in favor of a more modern, hip look and...More

Pamir was one of our favorite restaurants when we were looking for something not likely to be cooked at home. Unfortunately, the place closed when we weren't looking. I don't know whether the Pamir in NYC is still going strong or also went under. Too...More

By far my favorite restaurant in Morristown, great atmosphere, excellent food, warm service, but apparently the owners have moved and the restaurant is now closed. Very sad to see it go.

I've been living in Morristown for 3 months now and Pamir has quickly become my restaurant of choice. Its perfect for datey night, entertaining guests, or anytime your taste buds need to be delighted. The food is so succulent and flavorful. The meat is cooked...More

Fabulous flavors combined with colorful variations of many dishes. You can order samplers which helps when you are not familiar with the culture. Every dish I tried was tastier than the next. Wonderful service and very caring staff.

This is the first time I have ever eaten Afghanistan food. The place is very elegantly furnished. It has outdoor seating. We ate inside but right by the big open door so it was the best of both dining worlds. We started with the Afghan...More

Been there a few times as recently as Friday evening. The menu is simple but varied enough. I suggest either the chicken skewers (tend to be overcooked so ask for medium) or lamb kebab (here also ask for rare if you want it medium rare)....More

Excellent place for a casual dinner + BYO. Great food, good service .... reasonable prices, located in the heart of Morristown. The restaurant takes reservations which is important in this town. Definitely recommend for a dinner with friends.

Consistently great, new location has not changed the excellent food and service, lamb specials, pumpkin appetizers and delicious rice dishes don't miss it.

We had a nice visit but hoped for something a little more special. Part of the problem was not the restaurant's fault as the St. Pat's day parade was that day and they had to contend with the drunken mass of human carnage immediately outside....More

Pamir is the name of a mountainous area in Central Asia mainly in Afghanistan once along the route of Marco Polo’s Silk Road and also inhabited by descendants of Alexander the Great’s troops. The region’s cuisine was fortunate to inherit many exotic spices and flavors of Central Asia and its surrounding countries with influence from the Far East, Middle East, Mediterranean and Russia. Pamir Restaurant was originally opened in NYC in 1979 and has maintained the same family ownership and great recipes. Enjoy a taste of our history!
