When I pop into a place for a crafty coffee, think this place looks something special and end up being tempted by a specials board it's not going to surprise anyone that I'm going to say it's a special kind of place. Just far enough off a busy road to be peaceful yet close to a free car park. It looks lovely from the outside. Stepping inside you'll notice its clean and calm. What you won't notice until you sit down is theres enough room between tables to feel intimate yet not crowded. I loved not feeling cramped. The team are friendly and not pressuring you. I only wanted a coffee but took advantage of a locally sourced Mushroom Goulash as well. Coffee was quality and the Gorilla stencil on top of a cappuccino is a well thought touch. As are the little extras on the table to amuse you while your Vegan food is, as you are about to find out, expertly prepared. Someone has great attention to those little details that make a difference. And don't expect a tiny amount either. There was enough for two! The Goulash comes with garlic bread. Now again it's not run of the mill garlic bread either. I don't know what they do but there was some kind of magic. It was lovely. This place has been on TV and it's not hard to work out why. Superb food presented well and brought to you with a smile in a calming and special atmosphere. This is one silver back who will definitely be returning. Brilliant

Came for lunch. Absolutely fabulous place! The cauliflower buffalo wings are addictive! We had tea and cake afterwards, the cakes were amazing especially the salted caramel brownie. Can’t wait to return! Definitely go if you get the chance!

The Laughing Gorilla is an absolute delight for anyone wanting to eat veggie or vegan food. The service was excellent and, most importantly, the cafe was clearly very conscious of being Covid safe. They offer a good array of breakfast options: from granola, croissants and toast to veggie sausage sandwiches. Their speciality : buffalo cauliflower wings are superb. Spicy, crispy and very moorish. They offer coffee which has been roasted locally, along with a myriad of smoothies. Very reasonably priced, if you are in the area then it is well worth making the trip to the Laughing Gorilla.

Amazing vegan cafe/restaurant! We found it on trip advisor but turns out we know some people who had previously been We bought 2 banana biscoff milkshakes, mushroom flapbread, chick-less bbq wrap, chips and cauliflower wings. All tasted amazing. The ranch sauce was also so good. Best milkshakes around too! Would have loved to take some cakes too they all looked amazing but couldn’t buy the whole shop 😂🙈 Definitely worth a visit. Food was done fairly quickly and we took the food away and was packaged great to keep all the food warm

We’re staying in a holiday cottage up the road and one taking a wander into town we came across this place. Neither my wife or I are vegans but it looked nice so went in. Oh wow did we not regret it. Firstly anyone visiting here you MUST try the cauliflower buffalo wings. They were incredible. We all had a piece of cake each and every one was homemade and absolutely delicious. My wife had a coffee whilst myself and the kids had a milkshake each which I have to say was one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever drank. We’re hoping to go back before the end of our holiday.

Amazing food, lovely staff Had takeout dinner- the great thing about that is you can imply your party is larger than it is,order loads of food, and have something left for lunch the next day. Particularly recommend the buffalo cauliflower, chocolate pudding, faitas, mushroom risotto, chocolate cake.... So nice to have chocolate dessert options 🙂

As a meat eater I was a little apprehensive at visiting a vegan establishment but my vegetarian daughter really wanted to visit . We were made so welcome by the really friendly staff and promptly shown to a table . The restaurant was buzzing and the clientele ranged from holiday makers to workmen and locals , some speaking Welsh which was lovely to hear . We ordered drinks and I had an iced biscoff coffee which was delicious and my daughter had a fruit/ vegetable juice which contained beetroot , apple juice and watermelon . To start we had a very generous portion of buffalo cauliflower wings which were very moreish and subtly sweet due to the maple syrup glaze . We then both had the chick less wrap which was breaded chicken style strips in a quinoa and linseed wrap with salad garnish , smoky bbq sauce and homemade coleslaw . The portions again were generous and v tasty . The restaurant was very busy and it also offered a takeaway service - we went at lunchtime but they also offer takeaway until 7pm . There is a free car park at the bottom of the street . As we paid the bill we noticed a display of very enticing vegan cakes which looked really lovely but unfortunately we were both so full we couldn’t have managed another bite . I would highly recommend this restaurant - it has certainly changed my view on vegan food !!

This place is wonderful! I've genuinely never had a better vegan meal anywhere, and they also catered for me being gluten free with ease. The food was so delicious, well presented and generously portioned, making it great value for money. Someone pipped me to the last slice of gf cake but I had a loaded dark hot chocolate for dessert which more than made up for it! The service was fab too. If it wasn't 4 hours away from home I'd be a regular for sure! They also donate a portion of their profits to charity, winner!

We were told about this cafe by the lady running GwynFryn holiday cottages who had the menu in the cottage information pack and decided to check it out as we're both vegetarian. We were not disappointed! It is dog friendly and we were greeted by smiling young ladies, who were helpful and pleasant. The food was outstanding. (Garlic mushroom flatbread & Gorilla burger with chips to share) Everything was mouth watering, and huge portions, we couldn't finish it all. We took home some desserts - (carrot and pistachio cake & orange torte) YUMMY!! We will certainly return when we're next walking in this area. Nice to know there is this vegan cafe and we hope it continues to thrive :)

Good service and fantastic food - tasty and generous portions - yet at astonishing prices. I had a flatbread with mixed veg, hummous and pomegranate molasses and if memory serves me correct (I am reviewing this the day after our meal) it cost £8 or thereabouts. Astonishing value! If this had been on the menu at a half decent restaurant in any large city in England it would've likely set me back £12-£15. And regardless of price and value for money, it was bloody lovely and my wife and kids loved their food too!

The Eating Gorilla was recommended by family, renting a cottage from them in the village. It did not disappoint - fabulous food, fresh, tasty and excellent value. Cauliflower wings (in a spicy buffalo sauce) were delicious as were the Gorilla burger and falafel burgers - and the sweet potato fries fantastic - though not needed at all! The service was faultless, all in all eating here was a highlight among many highlights of our stay in this special part of North Wales. If you are in the area, do visit this great place

We went here because it had good reviews and it lived up to those, I had the falafel burger with a side of chips and cauliflower wings, all had a great flavour and was very fresh. I'd recommend this even if you normally eat meat. (Forgot to take a picture before I ate some so there's only a couple wings left)

I wanted to visit the Eating Gorilla before our holiday started in Wales. Our Airbnb host had recommended them and having looked at their fb page I was keen to go. But then when you have been looking forward to a visit you can often be disappointed. I need not have worried - the food was some of the best we ate on this holiday. Staff super friendly and just downright nice and helpful and the food exceeded all my expectations. My only regret is we only made it here once during our stay. The Gorilla burger is amazing and the filled pitta delish. The milkshakes were lush. we are a family of five with three grown boys/men who can really eat, especially after a good long walk and we left full and happy. I could t even fit in one of the cakes, much to my disapppoinment. Amazing cafe, anyone on holiday go early in your visit as you’ll then have the time to go again!! 👌👌👌

I can only agree with all the reviews of the people before me, first class food, first class service! I've only been once, well, twice really but on the same day!! We'll doubtless be frequent visitors as our son and his family live in the village. There certainly appears to be a fantastic selection regardless of your food preferences... we're not vegan or vegetarian ...but EVERYBODY would be able to find something to enjoy even if only coffee and cake or a (plate sized) tea cake and speciality tea. Give it a whirl, you won't regret it.
