Yes. Best creme and honey dipped donuts on the planet. And probably the best chocolate cake too! At the best prices in Ontario. Please don't tell anyone about Culbert's - as it is they run out of the donuts by 1:30 PM and I dont want tourists to find out about the place!

There is nothing like a fresh baked donut from Culbert’s. My favorite is the cinnamon raisin. I’ve had cookies, cakes, tarts, bread, rolls, probably some of everything they make and it was all great. It has been a family tradition to get donuts from Culbert’s every time we come to Goderich for vacation. They must be doing something right, lately, the line has been outside the door on Saturdays.

Best Ever Peach Ginger Pie!!!!!
We served it for dessert tonight to our Australian guests, who were blown away by the flavour…us too!
Unbeknownst to us they have been going to Culbert’s for treats all week.
They love it and so do we❤️
Burger and hotdog buns great and the perfect size.

I’m not sure about you, but I’m not psychic and can’t visualize if their open sign is blinking from my house an hour and 45 minutes away… so instead I check online to see what their hours are! How sensible, right?! Don’t be fooled…
Culbert’s Bakery can’t bother to update their business hours - Google says they close at 5:30, Maps says 6:00PM. We show up at the store at 5:05PM (after driving for an hour and 45 minutes) and stand in line with about 4 other people outside who are waiting to get in. A customer leaving the store is the one who tells everyone in line that they’re closed. Everyone in line is in the same boat - they’re under the impression they were open, because of their online hours.
Despite the people standing outside their door, they don’t bother to come and explain that they’re closed for the day. They glare at the customers through the windows, until eventually everyone disperses. No apologies, no being human and seeing why all the people outside might be there. They are happy to rudely turn people away. They will not give you one second of their time or appreciation. In fact, they’ll pretend like you don’t exist, or treat you like you’re some stray animal in who will leave them alone if you ignore them long enough. I can’t and will never give a place like this my money - they don’t deserve a penny. And I won’t worry about it, because they’ll sink their own boat eventually anyways.

I have been buying here for over forty years. I can appreciate the burden of trying to maintain a heritage business with insufficient staffing but there is no excuse for passing off stale goods at these or any prices. This has happened before as well.
The loaf I purchased was fresh but tasteless. The squares that were fresh were quite tasty but others were very dry and crumbly. Prices have increased and pieces are much smaller. I have never liked their tasteless cookies.
The counter ladies were trying their best. I hope a new buyer can get this business back on track. This will be my last visit.

Ordered eight dozen cream puffs to take back to Grimsby and London for friends. Picked them up and they were in one big box with no lid. Took the entire back seat of the vehicle. Went back to get boxes and repackaged them ourselves. The kicker is they were not fresh and we are feeling a little embarrassed after raving about the cream puffs and giving them out only to try one from our box and discover they were not good. $84.00 for the donuts and a huge disappointment. Definitely stale and not good enough for “fresh baked “

I’ve been a customer of Culberts for close to 20 yrs and always enjoyed their goods. Unfortunately it seems with the new management things have changed and sadly not for the better. The shelves looked sparse, no scones, only one type of bread available, cookies @ .75c were so tiny. I liked the cookies they used to sell but wouldn’t buy these tiny dollops for 75c. The only thing that was like it used to be were the cream puffs though even those the cream was runny. Sad to see it gone down hill.

Awesome cream puffs as always!! A word of advice for those who like me saw the 2018 1 star review. When you go to a foodie place order what they are famous for (do you go to a fish place and expect an amazing steak? No)! Culbert’s is known for their cream puff donuts, if you must go off script get a freaking donut at least (they seemed popular and looked amazing).
Staff is always amazing there and another point when going to food places ask the staff what they like! You will majority of the time love what they suggest.
Also, know that Bakeries have ALWAYS had very specific hours, like most are never open Sundays and they are never open late 🙄.
Anyway still doing great in Goderich! Great cream puffs!

We stopped by the bakery as it was recommend by staff at Samuels Hotel. We picked up some bagels, black currant biscuits and butter tarts. Everything was fresh! The biscuits were our favourite! We warmed them in the oven and added lots of butter as the nice guy at the cash desk recommended.

From the time I walked in the door and got yelled at by an ignorant worker (security) at the door until the time I left, I was not Impressed with staff. Maybe you are too busy, but after Covid, one would think people would be happy to be back to work. Apparently not. The only thing that makes up for the rude workers, is the bakery has great donuts. Not sure with the attitude is about. Doubt we will be back.

It was our first trip to Goderich and we heard about this bakery and wanted to ensure we stopped by. Their donuts and pastries were delicious. Friendly service. The bread we got was amazing just wish there were more varieties. Very happy with their COVID protocols. We will definitely be back.

Cream puffs can’t be beat!
I wish they had fresh gluten free options though. A box of doughnuts (any kind) are always a party favourite :)

First visit to this iconic bakery in downtown Goderich, in business since 1877. Great variety of baked goods - croissants, turnovers, cookies, tarts, buns, breads, etc. - attractively displayed and priced. A must-visit for the food-conscious, and one you'll return to. Expect to wait at certain times in the morning.

Love this bakery, for those giving this bakery a bad review: it’s not their problem you can’t check their media’s on times or call them to see when they open and close if you cannot find a time!
Highly recommend coming but the bakery can be busy and I bet it can be very stressful for the workers!
