We stopped in for a late breakfast. We were seated immediately even though the place looked fairly busy. Our waitress came right a way, brought coffees within 2 minutes. We ordered and our food was there within 10 minutes (veggie & cheese omelet and a bacon/egg breakfast, with home fries). Service was excellent (fast & friendly), food priced well, and meal was good. Recommend and would go again.

Located right on number 6 highway just before the town of Wiarton. Great location with lots of parking and patio space. We were there for breakfast at 8 AM sharp..early open times on a Sunday. Good food, and lots of it for a very fair price. Coffee is great.

Helpfull and nice employees, classic diner. Food was average but the price was good. The place needs a thoroughly good clean!

We stayed at the top Notch Motel for 8 nights in June 2024 and had breakfast and dinner daily from the attached restaurant. We were here in Wiarton with a group of friends after travelling from Australia.
The motel is a traditional roadside one, which has been recently refreshed. The rooms are clean and cosy, and the location is good with easy walks into town and pleasant green surroundings. The restaurant serves large portions of tasty and well-presented food from breakfast til dinner time and has an old-time atmosphere. But what makes both the motel and the restaurant special is the management and the long-term staff. Frank, Alicja, Bobbie, Karen and the rest will go out of their way to make you feel at home and look after your needs. We liked it so much that we came back for a second visit when we were in the area again.

My mother and I were in Wiarton for the funeral of a dear friend. We arrived at a local motel, but that’s another story and a less than stellar rating. It was dinner time at the end of a long and emotional day. We stopped at Top Notch Restaurant only to find it had closed. I got out of the car to check what it’s hours might be. Suddenly, there is a wonderful man standing there wishing us a good evening and what could he make for us! Please, come in, I’ll turn on the lights and make you what you’d like. We looked at each other in amazement! Frank and his wife made us a delicious dinner, regaled us with stories and best of all treated us as friends rather than travellers who had been through quite enough for one day.
It was a treat and we thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for your hospitality and great food.

Very good breakfast but, they have short hours. Only 7 or 8am until 2PM. It's a very old building with lots of character! Very friendly staff.

My wife and I actually wanted to go to the green door cafe ,but it was not open so we thought we would give the "topnotch" another chance, very friendly attentive waitress, but why is the food so bad?.. under cooked eggs, under cooked sausage, tasteless home fries and bacon that is boring, prices are still acceptable except that they charge extra for some very good toast, not a fav of mine, but hey you try the place out and you decide, cheers

The restaurant is a lovely family run buffet. It is cozy and warm with a real fire. The food went on and on and was always hot and well presented and prepared. A great deal if you have an appetite.... will definitely go back when I’m the area!! Well done!!

There are not many places to eat in Wiarton. This establishment has been around for a very long time and it shows the age.
Arrived for breakfast (4 adults) on a Sunday the kitchen roof had just fallen in. We decided to eat from the limited buffet - it was not good at all.
Positive we tried once again order from the menu!

We were very surprised when we sat down what a unique place.
Our waitress was Karen nice lady. She was bombarded and did excellent. The food was good, atmosphere kept you looking, price was good.

What a great deal this Sunday brunch is! Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food on offer at this buffet. It was small but great offerings and reasonably small amounts of each item out so they were constantly setting out fresh. This was noticable in the eggs benedict that came out fresh and hot and nicely runny yolks compared to the heat lamp over-coooked versions found on most buffets. There were some unusual offers, great stuffed mushrooms, devilled eggs, perogies, small pieces of a sweet and hot fried chicken, and what looked like timbits were actually deep friend bananas-yummy!! Small bowls of doritos, cheesies, popcorn seemed like odd choices but I saw the kids loved these, what a great idea to keep the little ones happy. Coffe was good and refilled often, and you could also order off the menu. We'll be back, often!

This place needs a major make over! It's old inside, we went for buffet. Everything was cold, hard or old. They never brought more bacon out. The toast was soggy. The fries were cold and didn't even look cooked. The benches are hard, it just feels so cold inside. Disappointed for sure, this place use to be good

Visited with family and order a salad . No romaine available, so I went with the soup and BLT. Probably the worst I have ever had. The bread was slightly warm, soggy and only partially toasted. The soup did not arrive until I reminded the waitress that it was requested to be served before the cold sandwich. Keep driving right past this one. The French fries were extremely soft and dark. Old oil at a low temp frying is likely the reason. The soup was decent, but nothing else.

Looking for a comfy spot with good food and friendly service, then this is it. Great breakfasts served in an eclectic atmosphere. Kind of corny but in a nice way. Makes you feel relaxed with good home cooked food. Try the buffet on Sunday. You’ll be amazed.
