We did the 90 minute chocolate tour - learning the process from start to finish, seeing both dark, milk and white chocolate making processes, the fermentation process through to final production. So interesting. The tasting was fantastic and well the cafe cholate and the ginger chocolate cannot be missed. If you love chocolate you must do this one!

We’ve been there with our kids (8 & 11) after some outdoor activities. Prior visiting the cocoa factories we had a late lunch there. We ordered different dishes for the kids & the adults together with some local made beer. In summary: all looked and tasted very good and was very reasonable priced. After lunch we had a guided tour... More

This place has some tasty desserts but overall I found it very overpriced and the service was never good. Not my favorite place to eat in mindo, that's for sure.

You should eat here if you're in Mindo! My son had the ham/cheese sandwich - made with delicious fresh bread. My husband had the cocoa BBQ sauce pork chop - he loved it!! And, I had the vegetable quinoa risotto - very good; too big a portion for me to eat. We never would have found this spot without our... More

Everyone here is so welcoming and accommodating. The room was really nice, comfortable and clean, with a lovely private view. The chocolate tour was so interesting and fun! The fresh glass of cacao juice was delicious. I also ordered the trout and mushrooms and it was the best meal I had while traveling in Ecuador. The chocolate though... not only... More

Sort of weird to say that I know, but my 11 year old daughter and I enjoyed this SO much. I booked the lunch with chocolate tour. The food was fantastic! The tour guide, it was just us and him, really educated us on the process of making the chocolate from the pod growing on the plant all the way... More

The brownies are pretty good but the meal that we had there was not that great. Very salty. The facility is very nice and so are the people that work there.

I ate breakfast and dinner here for 17 days, as I stayed nearby. This kitchen puts out wonderful organic food and allows modification. Service is outstanding and friendly. In addition to making great chocolate, El Quetzal also makes ginger beer and other products. I loved the ginger syrup in my yogurt/granola in the morning. The granola contains home-made cocoa nibs.... More

Every time I visit Mindo, I eat at least 2 brownies from El Quetzal. If nothing else, get a brownie to go. That being said, both lunch and dinner are really good as well. I recommend the Cacao chicken, yukka fries, and ginger beer, as well as the brownies of course.
