We had or dinner at Alice May and ordered the pork with apple sauce and beef cheek with red wine sauce. Both were yummy! Both the pork and beef were so tender. we love it!

This is a popular eating place and it is easy to see why. Prices are sensible, portions are generous ad service is excellent . Very accommodating to food intolerances.

Charming restaurant loaded with antiques, named in honor of woman who shot her husband but was freed after massive public outcry.

Ordered from the light bites menu, and the portion was still sizeable. Food was very tasty and the deserts were amazing. Definitely thought this was the nicest restaurant in Franz Joseph.

Very limited on restaurant selection in Franz Josef, but this was one of my favorite New Zealand meals. Nothing fancy...roast pork accompanied by pumpkin/squash soup and sticky pudding for dessert!

As warm and welcoming, as a traditional English Carriage House. The white walls and exposed rafters are adorned with riding tack, farm tools and other historic artifacts. While the wooden floors, wagon wheel bar stools and open fireplace add to the warmth.
