Was looking for something open on Sunday. Saw this place and went. Now I see why there was so many good comments on other posts. I got the stir fried scallops, my girlfriend got the sesame chicken. While mine was good, hers was better. In fact, it was quite possibly the BEST sesame chicken, I've ever had. I also recommend... More

If you're looking for good dim sum, Hong Kong Tea House is the real thing. Its staff tell me that they're dim sum chef is a trained dim sum chef who comes to them from San Francisco's Chinatown, and I find that easy to believe after having dim sum at Hong Kong Tea House over several years, on repeated visits... By sharing your experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you! We tried the dim sum on a Saturday in early August. Restaurant was medium busy but kitchen did a nice job of making sure everyone got fast and fresh ordered items. Our choices were each hot and fresh. No question that each item... More

Recently had a great dinner here with family. A family member who spent time in China ordered a bunch of food for us. Dim sum and Peking duck were inspired, as were the green beans. We had an egg drop soup which I found to be mediocre - but perhaps that was just in comparison to the other dishes. We... More

We went here for Father's day and I was not disappointed. Authentic Chinese food. We ordered a dim sum appetizer, a boneless spare ribs appetizer and some egg rolls all of which were delicious. The general Tso's chicken may have been the best I've ever had. VERY fresh and made with real chicken not bits and pieces. Sweet and sour... More

First visit for lunch. Wife and I had our favorite Dim Sum choices. We lived in Hong Kong and good dim sum is hard to find here in the States. This restaurant did not disappoint. All are had made there, served hot with excellent sauces. The only thing missing are the carts rolling through the restaurant and snake soup. Service... More

So, there are a ton of chinese restaurants in Salt Lake City. There are many really good ones but this one is probably one of the best. Don't let the location scare you away, it's about two blocks west of the homeless shelter and yes, there are some homeless people out and about but it's perfectly safe. The food is... More

Perhaps being a customer since it opened years ago, I know exactly what is good [to great] having tried so many things. The hot and sour is brought almost immediately [since I am well-known to the servers] and when it is absolutely excellent, I order a soup to go. The Peking duck never disappoints [one day notice required]. There are... More

We had dinner here based on the TA reviews and the fact that not much was open on Sunday night.. We were very disappointed. The server wanted to seat us at first table by the front reception and when we asked for a different table we were told in a scolding manner that we would have to wait for them... More

The restaurant has won many awards in past years and other TA reviewers here have compared it favorably to San Francisco restaurants. I have to disagree. Hong Kong Tea House is a slightly-above-average Americanized Chinese restaurant that's probably a stand-out in SLC, but not elsewhere. I tried to order adventurously from the menu, electing to go with the Shrimp Paste... More
