Padilla's is a New Mexico institution that we all have a love affair or addiction to because of the food and the family owners. Only in the small family restaurants of N M will you find the dedication it takes to making homemade food. Life begins with red chili and ends with the best in town sopapillas. Actually voted the... We needed quality food but quick service and we found it with the help of TA reviews. Less than 3 miles from I-40. We were able to park our pu and trailer. We were ushered right in. No wait even at 6:30 pm. This is a very busy restaurant but VERY efficient. Our enchilada meals were served with fresh and... More

Small family atmosphere. Wonderful sopapillas. Great Carne Adovada and Posole. This restaurant reminds me of the Mexican food restaurants I grew up eating at in New Mexico. Not glitzy but wonderful food and fast service.

Just a small bustling restaurant in business forever it seems. Fast friendly service. Good chips and salsa, menu selection. Worth visiting this restaurant in a strip mall

Traveling across the state, my daughter and I wanted something inexpensive that was local, so we found Padilla's on TA. It was only a few minutes from the interstate, and it was packed. The wait didn't take long, however and we scarfed down chicken enchiladas (green sauce) and beef enchiladas (red sauce) happily and contentedly before gassing up (no pun... More

As a self-proclaimed New Mexican food expert I've pretty much tried them all in Albuquerque and this place is the best. Homey, unpretentious atmosphere. Most importantly, the BEST sopaipillas! Yum...

A perfect meal for 2 hungry travelers. Great service. Great food. Great prices. I had the special. My son had the combination platter. Get both green and red sauces. Just the right kick for the sinuses.

Padillas is very popular, is a neighborhood favorite, and I have family who consider it their favorite of all NM restaurants. I don't get it. There's usually a wait with no place to stand except next to occupied tables, the decor is scruffy lunch counter, the joint is NOISY, and the food is good but not in my top 3.... More

This really is best Mexican food on Albuquerque! Their hours are the only down side. Open for lunch then closed and reopened for dinner. Short hours, but if you can make it, you will love it.

This is a very special place for New Mexican cuisine. It is set in a neighborhood off the beaten path. A very non descript place. There is nothing much to say in regards to the décor and after you take that first bite you don't care what the interior looks like. The flavors are bold and hearty. The red chile... More
