Definitely a diner atmosphere. Very good NM food and good value for the money. My husband had a pork enchilada with red sauce, very good. We asked for a taste of the spicy red sauce, it's very good and very spicy. It would be a bit much on it's own for me but I really enjoyed having a little on... More

Read that this little hole in the wall had Albuquerque's best Taco and I must agree. The Chicken taco is absolutely the best I have ever had. In a strip center and looks like it has been there forever. Definitely not high class, but world class. All meals end with their incredible Sopasillas with honey. YUM

This was an iconic New Mexican restaurant in the past and was one of the best. The restaurant has change hands and all of the hot air balloon graphics have been removed from the walls. This is a simple restaurant and the new owners, about 10 years now, have mostly kept the old menu items and have done a good... More

Many changes in ownership over past 10 years. I have eaten here since mid-60's. Present owners producing great food with new expanded menu at a reasonable price. I recommend their tamals, tacos, and rellenos. I haven't found better sopapillas anywhere. Facility needs upgrading - showing its,age with 50 years of service--- basic diner which to me means real Mexican food.... More

Canned green chile sauce. Took 20 minutes to get water and coffee and 40 more to get our food. I'm not really sure why, we were the only ones in the place. The waitress said she wasn't used to working the morning shift. Not a reason if you ask me. And there is no excuse for canned green chile. Period.

We found this restaurant because of Restaurant.com. We had just moved to Albuquerque and were looking for Mexican Food that matched the food in Las Cruces. At this point we did not know the difference between Mexican Food (from southern New Mexico) and New Mexican food (from northern New Mexico). While the food here was not totally what we were... When it was owned by that blond haired woman named Chris, it was great. It is awful now. They give you 10 chips and a small bowl of salsa. If you want more, you have to pay. I asked for a side of spanish rice. I got white rice with tomato sauce. I won't go here again. The food was... More

I loved it because it the whole place had such character. The food was really spicy and tasted great. And the service was really good. I will be going back.
