Did not receive all of the items we ordered. Though advertised, I was told you need to actually REQUEST your side items. They refused to honor their advertised meal. Grubhub recommended I dispute the charges with my credit card company. I have happily done so. Additionally... the pork ribs we received were 3 minuscule scraps of pork with only bone... More

Just finished eating at the Pig Stand. Experience was great we split a BBQ and cheese burger liked it so well we ordered another barbecue. The restaurant is filled with a lot of nostalgia. We had a really good time visiting with the owner Marianne. Definitely an old school type of restaurant and very non-corporate just what I like.

Nostalgic diner in an older, not so nice neighborhood, but I understand this is the last Pig Stand open and it's been here about 50 years or something like that. The area doesn't seem to be unsafe, just rundown. Jukebox at each table and a whole lot of pig-related kitsch and old throw-back items along with the red & white... More

I decided to bring my mom back to a this restaurant 48 yrs later after my dad had brought her here on their honeymoon to San Antonio. So our visit was based on nostalgia and not the reviews. I will say, the place needs some serious TLC. With some TLC and a deep cleaning I think it would be a... More

Had business in San Antonio, and took the opportunity to make a detour and revisit this little piece of culinary heaven. The neighborhood is changing, but the quality and taste of this SA landmark remain as high as ever. The chicken fried steak (offered in two sizes) was obviously hand-breaded, and so tender you didn't need a knife. The accompanying... More

Save yourself a trip and don't come here. it is not what it used to be. The food fell flat and the place was just a bit dirty. It has the feel of a restaurant going down hill to the end, but is too stubborn to let go. I would love to see this place turn around.

Been coming here for more than 50 yrs and find the place to be every bit as good as it was "back in the day". Food is fantastic, a true jewel of nostalgia in San Antonio....for those of us that remember fondly the Butter Crust Bakery, Playland and other bygones that are long, long gone. The pig sandwich with that... More

I came here with my mom and kids and we all really enjoyed it! I've been passing it for years and always wanted to try it, but I didn't know what to expect. Each of us really enjoyed our food and the prices weren't bad.

I only went to go and meet a lady in regards to her selling me a shampoo. I've lived in San Antonio 18 years and never heard of the pig stand. My first thought was 50's from the jukebox to the pigs to the pictures on the wall. We were just waiting there and got a drink when I saw... More

Big portions and good food. Waitstaff was undermanned but was prompt in delivering food and beverages. 50s kind of atmosphere.
