This restaurant is a bit of a challenge to find, but it is in the back part of the Hotel Havana. It came as the top recommendation at Hotel Indigo where I was staying for a conference. The empanadas starter was excellent and creative, but...More

Ocho is located in the Hotel Havana, and is directly on the riverwalk. It offers inside dining (in a large conservatory overlooking the river) and outside dining. Excellent revive, and a unique, interesting ambience. The menu is the only one I have found in San...More

Food was fabulous here. I highly, highly recommend the fried trout with cream poblano sauce. you can sit outside or in- both have great character. Just a very relaxing feel to the whole place. We loved it. Outdoors you can even have a cigarette with...More

So this will be a bit of an odd review in that I am recommending this as a unique, off-the-grid Riverwalk haunt—that is at least as likely to be filled with chic, boozie and/or foodie locals—despite the fact that we really didn’t eat much there....More

During our recent visit to SA, my wife and I were out for a stroll, exploring the north end of the Riverwalk during a warm evening. We were thinking we might enjoy a drink, and could hear activity from above. We came up from the...More

From empanadas to a Cubano sandwich. Excellent food, well prepared. Make sure you have time if you come to eat. No one is in a rush here...and thank goodness...I don’t think there’s anything worse than having a server rush you through a meal. My wife...More

Went on a friend’s recommendation and well worth it. On an enclosed porch that is likely open in warmer weather. Cuban foods and drinks reformatted with tequila. Very nice. I had the cubano.

On a schedule to make a 7:00 show, so arrived by 5:40 and ordered immediately. Left at 6:35 without receiving anything - no drinks, dinner, much less water!!

I’ve been here many many times. Every meal, every cocktail is always perfect. I came mid morning for breakfast. The omelet was hearty and delicious. The Bloody Mary was spicy and tart. (Both of them were delicious.) I’ll be back.

Happy Hour appetizers were fresh, and Saturday breakfast was a delightful banana bread topped with melted peanut butter, yum.

Description
Inspired by the union of old and new worlds, Ocho at Hotel Havana offers two unique spaces for dining and drinks on the Museum Reach of the River Walk in San Antonio. The upstairs Ocho dining room, situated in a glass and steel conservatory reminiscent of a birdcage, opens onto the river and offers seating both indoors and outdoors. The downstairs lounge provides a dimly candlelit gathering place with velvet couches and antique leather club chairs suited for intimate meetings and secret rendezvous. Ocho at Hotel Havana presents a food, cocktail and wine menu that is rooted in the hotel's pan-Latin cultural influences. Ocho offers inventive menus for breakfast (voted among the Best in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine), lunch, dinner and late night to be served in-room, on the patio or in the upstairs lounge.
