On the other side of town but whenever I am near I stop in for a meal. I usually get red beans and rice with sausage. Corn bread on the side.

After living in Baton Rouge and southern Mississippi for years, I'm always inclined to try cajun/creole cooking outside of the area. My thoughts after dining there on a quiet Friday night (not many customers around 8pm, which might have been a warning) were that this was San Antonio-style cajun rather than the real thing. Service was good - the server... More

The best homestyle chicken in dumplings in San Antonio. The fried pickles are also the best in town.

Place is quite large but not crowded on a Monday night. We each ordered something different-seafood gumbo, talapia, vegetarian platter, and popcorn shrimp. We each liked our meal. Food came out hot and freshly made. The hush puppies were the best I've had in a long time. This is not gourmet food but prepared very well. The portions were large... More

A woman was selling jewelry at a table in the waiting room which I found strange, I can't imagine many people would choose this as a place to shop. They do have an alligator statue in the... More

Three time visitor, tried to give it a chance. Nothing special. Mediocre service. Again this evening they didn't have what I ordered and had to wait and reorder. Won't be returning.

I went yesterday for lunch with my co-workers. I enjoy the place. I always try to order something different to try everything on the menu. I ate the oyster PO-Boys it was ok . The Rice & Beans was outstanding as well the Jambalaya with sausage plate.

Went with my uncle, cousin and his wife for Sunday lunch. I had fried catfish, fried okra, hush puppies and greens. While the fish could have been a little crispier, the meat was white and flaky with very little gray matter (fat), and the vegetables were above average. Uncle had the red beans. He is from New Orleans and said... More
