I have been to La Playa and I must say that the food is always fantastic. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. Even with the much portion you receive a good portion that always fills me up. I recommend this place to everyone that comes to San Antonio.

This restaurant is Guatemalan, I believe. They serve great Pupusas and also good Mexican food for those who simply must have it. But the star of the show is the seafood. Fresh and prepared with class. Try one of the dishes that are baked, such as the Shrimp Diablo or the Filete Flameado. Another great bonus is the Rice Pudding,... More

I've eaten at both locations of La Playa in San Antonio several times. This one on West Ave. is more convenient to where I live. It is smaller. I usually only go at lunch when their prices are very reasonable for what you get. My favorite is the fish a la Veracruzana. You get a large filet (or two medium-size... More

I ate here because a friend recommended it. I'm picky about seafood but have eaten at some great seafood in the beaches of Mexico. This is not seafood. This is just heated frozen food. The shrimp was frozen. When I mean frozen, there was a piece of ice on the shrimp. The sauce was watered down ketchup. Had to add... More

On a recent day trip to the area, we chose to eat here because there is a restaurant with the same name in Corpus Christi, TX. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon, with every table taken. The wait was short and the menu is extensive. You can definitely find something good to eat here!

I enjoy eating at neighborhood restaurants but this restaurant had a couple of trouble making customers. Was very disturbing and seemed mgmt. didn't know how to handle a commotion. Didn't feel safe. The food is okay but the environment was stressful. I live in this neighborhood so most people don't offend but this time I felt uncomfortable. And it was... More

We go to this spot every so often with my parents. Nothing spectacular, but its good fish. Portions are big and prices as good.

The platters of fried fish and and jumbo glasses of shrimp cocktail looked delicious, but we had come here for the pupusas. I usually won't say this word in mixed company as I always get funny looks and comments like "you ate what?!" until I have had a chance to explain. These lovely little mouth watering corn cakes remind one... More

It's got a little bit if everything my favorite are the Plátanos maduros and Popusas! This place is very clean very neat and the food is made to order so it may take a couple of minutes before you're received your food but it's worth it!
