Six small plates for two is a fine dinner. Great French onion soup, butternut squash soup, veal piccata, lobster tart among the items on the small plate menu. Friendly service. Chefs greet you on way to the dining area. Easy walk from great hotels in town. Prickly pear margaritas went round twice, delicious. Make reservations on Open Table. Accurate reviews... More

Consider this charming family run bistro when you visit Santa Fe. We were very warmly welcomed by the owner/ hostess and she made room for us despite making a last minute decision to dine here. The tasting menu is a great choice and a great value and our choices were creative and very well executed. There was a guitarist playing... More

We've visited twice -- first this spring and again in mid-October. Took advantage of the Sunday night special 3-courses that start at $20. They have a wide and seasonal menu and the portions are plenty. Reservations are recommended - they were hopping on a late-autumn Sunday at 8pm. Service was quite pleasant and the server offered great suggestions on wine-by-the-glass... More

My husband and I have been to Dinner For Two at least 10 times in the past few years and we are never, ever disappointed. Service is wonderful, food is excellent! Always happy to see what the choices are for the evenings we eat there. I, especially, love the crab cakes and I make sure to enjoy them everytime we... More

Dinner for Two offers good food at a fair price but the atmosphere was a bit too casual for my taste. Although it seemed like a cross between a fine restaurant and the local diner, we did enjoy our meal.

I got the 6 plate tasting menu and thought that every dish was scrumptious! Next time we go, I want to try the cesaer's salad. We saw one prepared at an adjacent table and it looks delicious and very detailed. The atmosphere is quite romantic, although I wished the waitress had dressed nicer (she was in jeans and it kind... We went in the hope of having classical guitar with our dinner, but 30 minutes into the music, the musician packed up and left! The calamari prepared ceviche style was the highlight. The fish sample platter had too many fried items, and the mahi was small and dry. The filet meat was prepared well, but the potatoes were just average.... More

11/11/12 Been dining at D42 for at least eight years. Consistently fine food, unpretentious yet warm gracious atmosphere, and almost always frequented by local Santa Feans who say they, like my wife and myself, are regulars, which tells much about the quality of the dining experience all round.

We chose this Restaurant based on some of the reviews on this site. The Restaurant has a very nice and calm atmosphere. The food was good and the wine delicious. Surprisingly, I could not find a wine from New Mexico. Unfortunately, the service was very underwhelming. Within minutes of arriving we were asked if we were ready to order and... More

Having read the positive reviews my wife and I expected more than we received. My filet mignon was very ordinary and served on nothing other than a pile of mashed potato. My wife fared little better with three or four slices of veal in a lemon sauce once again on a pile of mashed potato. When we declined desserts the... More
