Recommended by Lonely Planet we pitched up after a two hour drive and would have driven on if we weren't so hungry. Glad we didn't. Run down area and cafe appearance but welcome and food were excellent. Prices good too - cheapest meal of our...More

What a great place to eat. Went here based on trip advisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The food was great and the service was perfect. The atmosphere was the best! Keep in mind they don't serve alcohol so bring your own.

My husband and I went here last night with 2 friends and had the best time. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and the food couldn't be any better. We all got something different and we all had leftovers to take home. It is a...More

We brought a small group of friends for dinner, and they enjoyed it so much that they were angry we had not told them about Chef Wayne's sooner. Outstanding Cajun food, and fun and sassy wait staff. It does not look like much from the...More

If you like that type of food , it's the best place in Springfield. I have been going there for 13 years and I have been there over 100 times. Never a bad meal .

The red beans are just yummy and the chicken ya ya is great. A hearty meal and great cornbread make this a must when in town. Reasonable prices, BYOB.

If you love spicy and want to revisit the tastes you enjoyed in NOLA, go to Chef Wayne's! The gumbo was spicy, velvety goodness. The Thunder Thighs are a must. I'll be back soon!

I had some of the best gumbo at this place. Served with cornbread. ...! It was so tasty. Who knew that the south could taste so good up north. Definitely a palette pleaser

I think that they do not take reservations. Just be prepared to wait a bit for a table. Also, it is a BYO for beer & wine. It's worth the wait...the food is delicious!

I looked on-line at their menus and didn't see that offering. They may rotate their menus and this would be served at other times during the year.
