The ambiance, wine and salmon were all outstanding! No reservations needed this time of year. Quiet in terms of patrons did not diminish the quality of the food or the service.

When I heard that the restaurant was closing for the season on the following night, I was somewhat nervous to order especially when looking at the prices. Since there are not many other options for a meal in this town due to everything being closed for the season, we went ahead and ordered. What a fabulous meal! From the moment... More

The elegantly set tables in this restaurant were quite a contrast to the rest of the town. Staff was friendly and well trained, I wanted to love it, but the food was just average and very expensive. Although my husbands Walleye was wonderful, one out of three meals didn't make it a good value.

We had a lovely dinner at Theodore's Dining Room (in the Rough Rider Hotel). For fine dining, the prices were not too high. I had shrimp and grits and it included any salad on the menu. The entree was delicious and the beet salad I had was exceptional. Service was also very accommodating and helpful. If you want a fine... More

The combination of Theodore Roosevelt history and excellent dining made for a fine dining experience. We had the Bison and Walleye dinners. They were both excellent. After a great cheese cake dessert we wandered through the lobby checking out the library, TR letters and other bits of history. A nice treat if you are in Medora.

Theodore’s Dining Room is located right in the Rough Riders Hotel. It is pricey, but very good. We ate there three times. Dinner was a fabulous Panko encrusted walleye filet with asparagus and grits, a bottle of wine and one desert ($100). We could have split the walleye and been plenty full. Service by Pearl from South Africa was excellent.... More

Expensive. Overpriced for the quality and choice of food. Only "nice" restaurant in Medora. The restaurant is convenient especially if one is staying in the Rough Riders Hotel. It is open until 9 p.m. which is a great help since all other restaurants in Medora close early. Using international students as servers is a nice touch.

This was one of the best meals in one of the most interesting settings that we have ever enjoyed in the United States. Emanuel, our server, was from Argentina and I believe he enjoyed serving us as much as we enjoyed him. We split a bison osso bucco that was one of the best things we have ever tasted. The... More

We ate breakfast here with a group of friends. The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. I love the lobby of the hotel, the fireplace, the books that are shelved there, and the decor in general. The breakfast was plentiful, in large portions, and served fresh and hot. The coffee was strong and hot, served with plenty of half... More

Really nice place in the middle of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Nice menu with lots of unique selections. Excellently prepare meals and very attentive staff. Charming restaurant in very nice hotel. Definitely worth a stop.
