Wonderful atmosphere and very nicely decorated. Seating was prompt and comfortable table settings. Bread was very good (white and rye), chewy with a great crust along with a terrific accompanying flavored oil. Next up was the absolutely incredible gnocchi mac and cheese. This was a truly incredible dish - gnocchi in a creamy mushroom sauce covered with melted cheese, scallions, and pancetta. If you try only one thing, get this!!! For the main, we had the rib eye steak and salmon. Salmon was superb. Rib eye steak was covered in gorgonzola crust. Cook wasn't quite what i ordered, flavor was good but a bit lacking. For dessert we tried the toffee cake - the carmel sauce was nice but with a bit of a burned taste. The cake itself was a bit dense and heavy for my taste. Service was quick at the beginning, but ordering dessert took about 15 minutes. While somewhat attentive and friendly, the service was not consistent with an upscale restaurant.

We had a wonderful dining experience with top notch service and cuisine! We started with the mussels which were good and the French onion soup which was amazing. Huge chunks of tender short rib in the soup came as a delightful surprise. For entrees, the server recommended the lobster pasta which was homemade and full of lobster, as well as the scallops, which were exceptional. Seating on the outdoor patio is highly recommended!

Amazing night downtown for a birthday dinner with delicious food and drinks! All four of us really enjoyed everything! Started with Pinot noir and Bread and oil, shared the blt salad, tuna tartar and calamari all of which were so tasty. Then our entrees… we got the duck, cooked perfectly, the Bouillabaisse, tasty, the ahi tuna, yum and the swordfish, a tiny bit overcooked but with the risotto it was so yummy. We also shared the gnocchi mac n cheese which we all highly recommend!! We shared dessert - chocolate toffee cake was light and amazing, creams brûlée was delicious and the tiramisu was just the right mix. Highly recommend.

Caesar salad was o.k. but the dressing had very little flavor. The potato croutons were actually the highlight of the meal and were yummy. The rib eye was one of the most disgusting things I've ever had at any restaurant anywhere. I ordered it medium and it came out raw (yes, literally raw, 75% of the inside of the steak was dark purple). As much as I hate to ever send food back, I had no choice. Unfortunately their solution wasn't much better. They clearly just threw the steak (with the gorgonzola topping still on it) on to the grill, as when it came back out it tasted like nothing but char. On top of that, the "sauce" was gross. It had no flavor. It was basically just heavy grease. To cap it all off, desert was basically a warm Wegmans muffin sitting in a bed of caramel. Tasty, but far from something I'd expect from a "fine dining" dessert. Ambiance was fantastic. Service was good but nothing special. Drinks were very good. Food was just awful.

After checking in to our hotel, we headed off to sample Buffalo's restaurant scene. Soon, we found ourselves standing in front of the Bacchus Wine Bar, only a block or so from our hotel. A check of Trip Advisor told us it was one of the best in the city. Since it was a hot afternoon, all of the indoor tables had already been booked. However, they could seat us in their wonderfully decorated patio. It was in the shade, and a steady breeze made it a pleasant dining environment. My wife started their Gazpacho special. It was a great blend of flavors with a bit of spicy kick. She followed the soup with a cool and refreshing watermelon salad. I began with a bowl of Tomato Bisque that was rich and spicy. My main course was shrimp and crab-encrusted swordfish over a bed of risotto and asparagus. The swordfish was excellent: properly cooked with additional flavors of its unique breading. In addition to the great food, our server Kristin, filled us in on the details of the local dining and art scene. An artist in her own right, she had painted the main mural in the restaurant's patio area. She did an excellent job, and our wine and water glasses were We had a great time that night. Great ambiance, food, and service are why this is one of the best restaurants in the city. Make sure you get your reservations early.

I had the pleasure of dining at Bacchus while visiting Buffalo and was very glad that I did. I loved everything about it. Mark R (that's what was on the check) was an absolutely awesome server and you will be lucky if you get one of his tables. He is a true professional; friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and polite The overall attention to detail from all of the staff was spot on.. I had the BLT salad and the pecan crusted salmon. I recommend both. You can't go wrong with this place and it was a really nice crowd dining there (if you like people watching like I do).

Pretty bad experience. Had a 7pm reservation but not seated until 7:25 and they were obviously not in a hurry to set our table. We then didn’t receive our appetizers until 8:15 after the table next to us received two separate courses. Informed at 9pm they were out of two of our entrees. Delivered two new choices relatively quickly but a fish choice was way over cooked. Comped us the reordered entrees but by then the dinner was a disaster. They attempted to blame it all on a large private party but that’s their problem, not ours. Just not good enough for such a highly rated restaurant.

Went tonight for a co Birthday Celebration. First time. We had the Tuna Tartar (yum!) Calamari w shrimp (yum!). I liked the shrimp encrusted swordfish. They graciouly let me sub root vegetables for the asparagus. My dining partner really liked her short ribs and I loved the cauliflower pureee under it!! The portobello fries that cme with this were delicious!! Finally, we both had Creme Brulee for dessert and the staff thoughfully added Birthday Candles for us! So nice! Our waitperson, Kristin, was an absolute professional and very helpful with wine pairing, adivice and suggestions, She was very knowledgable about food, cocktails, wine, appropriate pairings. Additionally she was very personable, friendly and nice! Thank you Kristin for making our Birthday so spectacular!!

Had dinner for four last night. First time there. Everything going well, Drinks good, calamari appetizer very good. Good ambience. After a somewhat lengthy wait ( I've had worse) the entrees came. Two ordered the rack of lamb. One was cold and had to be sent back. I ordered allegedly shrimp crusted swordfish ( didn't see any shrimp) over risotto with asparagus. The fish was just warm enough, the risotto was cold and the asparagus so undercooked it couldn't be cut with a knife. The fourth order came very hot so I assume our meals were being held while that one was cooked. Upscale kitchens are supposed to get that right.

W planned to eat here during a short visit to Buffalo based on the great reviews. It’s located downtown and they offer valet service although street parking was easy to find (and free on Sundays). It’s a warehouse style building with big undies and a cool ambience. Service was very good. Wine and cocktails were great. The food was a little disappointing though. The consommé tasted like salt water. The fish and meet cuts were good, and well prepared, but a little bland and also salty. Desert was horrible. Might be better for wine and small plates?

I just returned from a baby shower at your restaurant & I have to say I was presently surprised at how delicious the food was. The staff was so nice & kept everything clean. I can’t wait to bring my husband back for dinner.

Normally I don’t leave reviews while I’m traveling for business, but oh my gosh, I had to for Bacchus Wine Bar. Ann Marie was our server and she was so knowledgeable of the menu and such a delight! Her upbeat personality was contagious and she was so sweet. The food, oh my gosh, amazing! Need I say more!!! I’m a vegetarian and had the roasted cauliflower and I couldn’t stop eating it! It was delectable! For my entree I had another small plate of Gnocci Mac and cheese and those mushrooms, the flavor, amazing! My colleague had the short rib plate and it was huge! She said it was amazing too! The wine was the icing on the cake too! I wouldn’t mind traveling back to Buffalo, in this cold weather (I live in SC) as I will definitely come back here! Amazing food and amazing service! Thanks Ann Marie!

We were seated in a lovely courtyard. Our server, Kristin was impeccable. She was well versed in the menu, gave us great recommendations. The table did not want for anything all evening. Food was delicious, Ahi Tuna, Rib Eye, Salmon, were just a few of our selections. Only downside, no Plymouth gin. I highly recommend, Bacchus.

We have eaten at Michelin starred restaurants that paled in comparison. From the Foie Gras to the shrimp-crusted Fish to the incredible duck, it was nothing short of amazing. Nick our server was awesome. We will be back on our next trip to Buffalo.

Great venue for a special occasion. We had a mix of seafood and steak since we couldn’t make up our minds. Both were prepared perfectly and you can’t go wrong with either choice. Wine selection was of course extensive and what you would expect at a fine dining restaurant.
