Great ice-cream shop with friendly quick service located on Thames Street , easy to stop by as you stroll along the waterfront. The chocolate chip was excellent.

My husband got a sundae with different ice cream flavors every night we were in Newport. He's very picky about his hot fudge and I can assure you the sundaes here were in his top 5 of all homemade ice cream places we've been to (and we've been to a lot). I had a scoop of Kilwin's tracks the first... More

We were looking for ice cream. We found a line out the door that moved rather quickly. Once inside, the aroma of chocolate was enticing. The variety of flavors of ice cream was plentiful. They also sell chocolate and fudge. Delicious and fresh. I would recommend Kilwins.

Excellent selection of ice cream and chocolates. Gets crowded but line moves fast. Love the dark chocolate turtles.

This place is located on the wrong (sunny & hot) side of the street, but they are the bomb. They have a whole bunch of homemade chocolates handsomely prepared behind showcase windows that somehow we managed to skip in our determination to reach to the back area which had plentiful selections of ice cream flavors with obvious full chunks of... Went here because my sister wanted an ice cream, when I saw the fudge, I had to get some. I got chocolate walnut, peanut butter, and turtle. The fudge is great, and there are lots of candy stores where I live on Cape Cod. Fudge was so good that I went back and got more to bring home. Great place... More

Kilwin's has delicious ice cream and salt water taffy. We went there three nights in a row. The line can be long but they have a lot of employees who move fast!

We always make a stop to Kilwin's when in Newport. They make some of the best chocolate and their Ice Cream cannot be beat. If you like Peanut Butter and Rice Crispy Treats - Try the peanut butter covered Rice Crispy treat on a stick. AMAZING!

Between the ice cream, homemade waffle cones, chocolate turtles, candy treats and old fashioned nostalgic feel, you will feel like a kid again. Right in the middle of it all in downtown Newport, it's perfect.
