Three 30 somethings from Chicago/DC. This place was SO good. We went 2 days in a row for breakfast. The softest rice you will ever find. The salmon ones are probably the best but try everything. It is not a joke when people say they disappear quickly. They are so cheap!

Highlights: + Premium ingredients + Perfect shapes, sizes and selections + Perfectly cooked; rice and meats were excellent + Excellent taste + Classic Japanese service + Adequate price point - Supplies run out quick People have likened Japanese onigiri to "Masubi" which confused me when I was looking for a spam masubi place in Hawaii. But after realizing the "masubi"... More

Mana Bu's is unique as their fillings are stuffed inside the triangular shaped rice, different from the traditional musubi with the toppings on the outside. This allows Mana Bu's to offer seafood mixes that's not typical to traditional musubi. While they offer unique options, our favorites being teri-SPAM, tuna mayo, spicy tuna mayo, and kombu, we felt the fillings were... More

Mana bu's is absolutely meticulous about the offerings. The store is neat and clean. The help is dressed neatly, and the chef is in whites with a chef cap, no less. Items are labelled and neatly arranged. There is a large variety of delicious musubi (rice balls) if you go early. I was there one morning at 10 a.m., and... More

I take the Bus over to Mana Bu's every time I visit Oahu for their strawberry mochi. Usually it has never disappointed, but I will admit this last time the strawberry was a bit acidic (which has never happened before - always been sweet and perfect) but who's to know what the crops have been like this year or what... The only place in oahu that so far we went back again and again. Love the spam musubi and brown rice musubi. I feel healthy eating at the place. Planning to go back again this week.

Get there early and often! It may seem odd to purchase and eat savory musubi before 9am, but with one bite you'll soon realize why people leave with bags of dozens. My favorites are the tuna options, which are so simple but done right. I make it a point to eat here every time I am on the island. The... More

Came here after seeing on Food Network Best Thing I Ever Ate. They were right, the teri spam musubi is terrific. You need to come early as they sell out quickly then close. We came at 11:30 and they were already closed. We came back the following day at 10:30 and they were open but almost sold out. If you... More

Very good musubis...even made with brown or white rice. Favorites for me are the Konbu, Teri-spam, Ume, and the salmon ones. The say they make it high quality rice...all I can say that it is very good!
