Every time we are in Honolulu/Waikiki area we make it a point to visit Waiola shave ice - especially my kids will drive us crazy if we don't. These guys use real syrups (not artificial ones) so the shaved ice tastes better. Also, the shaved ice is very fine so it melts in your mouth. Go visit them if you... More

Great to have some Azuki and Mochi shave ice treat after a long day of work, sites, or beach...you really don't need an excuse to stop by for such a treat! There can be a line but you can order outside or inside the store. There is some parking but you are better off finding some on the street and... More

Smoother than snow! In the old days, shave ice was served in a paper cone. My favorite as a kid was strawberry. My husband likes the rainbow shave ice. Today there are lots and lots of flavors, toppings, additions--condensed milk, melted ice cream ("snow cap"), azuki beans, mochi balls...Waiola does it all. Parking is bad (but where in Hawaii isn't... More

This is only my second review on Trip Advisor but this place is worth the time to review. We can always count on the finest, melt-in-your-mouth shave ice with quality syrup and a lot of choices. There's also a convenient store inside with some local goodies, crack seed and drinks, etc. I usually get the standard rainbow of flavors, but... More

We went to both locations and received comparable service and quality of shaved ice. Tried shaved ice every day during our recent week stay and found Waiola still the best because of the quality of their shaved ice. Light, smooth, with minimal chunks of ice made it a delight to eat.

Great shaved ice! Ice was super smooth! All homemade syrup form came sugar. Only two flavors though. Must have with vanilla ice cream and condensed milk on top. Small outside eating area. They also sell cute tshirts, candy and preserved plums/seeds. Parking available.

I have tried many shave ice in my lifetime and this one is the best. The ice is so fine it melts as soon as it enters your mouth with a load full of sweet syrup. No one can compare to the delicate way they shave their ice into not crystals but fluffy light and fine dust. It is a... More

The best shave ice on the island. They have all the fillings and all the toppings. My favorite is with ice cream. Mango & Lilikoi. With condensed milk.

I got the custard bowl with lychee and Lillikoi flavors with sweetened condensed milk on top. $5. Worth every penny. It was one of the most delicious shave ice treats I've ever had!

We have visited several shaved ice stands, including some well-known ones, and none has ice that is as fine as Waiola! They have a variety of options, such as with ice cream, with azuki beans, etc, and everything we have tried there has been yummy!
