No frills poke with everything you need and nothing you don't. The freshest ahi, rice cooked to perfection, and flavors that harness the essence of the Hawaiian Poke experience. I sampled the Shoyu, Miso, and Spicy poke with furikake and tempura pieces. Hands down, I would repeat the Miso and Spicy combo bowl at least 5 days a week. Their thoughtful nature of service combined with perfect ingredients make Ono the pivotal poke spot in Honolulu.

Don’t let the lack of reviews in Trip Advisor fool you, look at Google to see how many people love the poke at Ono Seafood. We wanted to try authentic Hawaiian poke and this place did not disappoint. Walkable from our hotel on the east side of Kalakaua Ave, we had our best meal sitting on one of the picnic tables outside this takeout restaurant. You pick your rice, fish, and topping. There are side dishes available in the cooler next to the drinks. We had the lomi salad which was a nice complement to our poke on white sushi rice - we got the half Hawaiian and half spicy tuna with furikake on top and it was fantastic. The fish was so fresh. The meal came with a local soda. Line was long but moved quickly. Service was nice and very efficient. Definitely will be back and definitely recommend!

My family loves poke, we have made a point to try as many as we can when we travel and especially on Oahu since most places offer good-great poke. Like most staples in food, there is subjectivity. I feel like great poke is about the freshness of the fish. Yes, the sauces/seasoning make it unique however, it is all about the freshness and price. Ono is the best overall in my opinion. There are a few contenders like Foodland Farms poke bar (great value) and Fresh Catch. Yes, some of the restaurants will charge you double for less poke and it comes with a view. Ono delivers everything for the foodie driven by taste and value. It is not elegant, they serve in plastic. This is about the fish. I am thankful I met a local that told me to try, feel like it is my duty to share although you want to keep it a secret. Hope you enjoy.

This restaurant has a good reputation for its deliciousness. It happened to be near the hospital where I went to during my stay, so I stopped by. I bought two dishes: an ahi poke bowl and a Hawaiian ahi & spicy ahi bowl. Each bowl comes with a drink. When I got back to the hotel, my wife and I ate it right away. Hmm... our joint impression was, "It's not as delicious as the reviews say!" The poke itself was probably fresh, but it was stringy, had a bad texture, and the rice was especially dry and not tasty at all. You can get a more delicious poke bowl in Waikiki without having to go all the way to Kapahulu. The rice is better at Sato Seafood on Kuhio Avenue and Maguro Brothers in the basement of Waikiki Shopping Plaza, and the poke at the Foodland Waikiki Market is a little more expensive, but it's very fresh and delicious. What I realized during this trip to Hawaii was that all the restaurants that were delicious before were no longer delicious after the COVID-19 pandemic. The only thing that didn't change was the rib roast made at the deli in the back of ABC38. What a shame.

On a repeat visit after the pandemic, it appears that Ono is skating by on its past reviews. Could it be that it's counting only on clueless and undiscerning tourists from nearby Waikiki for its clientele? I ordered a large poke bowl and both the quality and the portion size were underwhelming, making it poor value. The quality of the poke itself was nothing exceptional, and I had had better from Foodland for less money. The "large" size bowl from Ono apparently means only additional rice, because it was topped with a startlingly thin layer of fish -- not what I expected for almost $20, even for Hawaii, where I eat a lot of poke on every annual visit. Very disappointing, and I'm sad to say I'll be going elsewhere for my fix of poke.

Read about Ono Seafood on some of the travel blogs. After taking a hike in Diamond Head we stopped by here for some poke. Parking is limited. The poke is already pre-made so as soon as you order they give it to you. The sides like lomi salmon are already in the refrigerator. It was more expensive than some of other restaurants. Foodland poke tastes better and is less expensive. It also does not offer any add-ons like some other restaurants. We tried Hawaiian Style and Spicy Ahi. Spicy Ahi was really spicy. You get a free soda per order.

We often would bring a Chinese entree to a potluck with our local family at Kapiolani park . Our preference was chicken cake noodle from Kapahulu Chop Suey. No longer there, so we picked up a a half tray of roasted chicken cake noodle from Onon in Kapahulu at 11am ; They open at 10am. All our Chinese, Samoan, Incas and Caucasian guests complimented it as the best dish at our picnic . Half tray serves 12 people and costs ~$52. Worth every cent.

I am a big fan of Poke and this place was recommended in a YouTube video that I watched. It a hole in the wall close to the Waikiki area. The poke is fresh and you can tell by the smell as soon as you walk in the door. I highly recommend taking a Biki Bike or driving out of Waikiki to visit this location

The best poke on the island. I like the shoyu aki and shoyu tako. The fish is so fresh and the flavor is perfectly. When you buy something be sure to grab a water or drink. It comes with the meal. Seating is limited but usually they finished before you come out. I recommend this to everyone who comes to Oahu. Yes there are alot poke places and many other to choose but I still like it here best.

Just a decent poke joint. Not sure why the reviews are so high. We had the spicy ahi platter and the combo platter - ahi and tako (octopus). Seasoning was ok. Rice was too warm and warmed up the poke quickly. Not a good thing if you have to drive a bit of a distance. Highest price point (about $ 20 for a 1/2 lb. order). Fresh Catch is superior by a mile!

My husband had the poke and I had wakame salad and cucumber salad with a side of rice. My husband liked his poke and I thought the wakame was excellent. But the cucumber salad had a dusty, old taste to it that overpowered the seasoning of the salad so I ended up throwing out half the salad. The rice is also ok. For people who want a quick bite, it's not a bad place to go to. But I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here

This seafood restaurant It is a tiny local where you can find one of the best Ahi Poke dishes in the whole island. Even though the line moves quickly, it is better if you come early to avoid long waits. There just two tables to eat so it is maybe better to plan to take your food and enjoyed somewhere else. This is a must visit! The prices are reasonable, and the taste will make you come back again and again.

I had half spicy salmon and half shoyu ahi it was fresh flavorful and delicious! I also got the seaweed salad which was refreshing and crunchy. The line wasn’t too bad when I got there but soon after was extremely long. We waited around 20 minutes which wasn’t too bad .

This clean, tidy, hole-in-the-wall establishment was a nice surprise. It's set back from the street and can be easily missed when driving by. The poke was fresh and very tasty and worth another visit. There were several varieties to choose from and ordering was straightforward. The price included a canned soda from the cooler. There were a few table outside that were full of people. Takeout is recommended. I will certainly visit again on my next trip but will park somewhere around the block; the parking lot is so tiny that there was gridlock when someone wanted to leave.

I've had a fair amount of poke from different places on Oahu and the Big Island and this is by far the best! It's a small little place with two big picnic tables outside under a covering so it's ideal for takeout. Parking lot is super busy because it's so popular. The staff is really nice. Heads up, they're so popular they start to run out of certain varieties by around 3ish if you want to make sure you get something specific, but all of it is pretty amazing and super fresh! No pictures because my sister and I ate is so fast lol.
