Well, to be fair, this was the only place we had sushi, but we ate a lot of poke so our taste for raw fish was discerning. This place came recommended, and we were not disappointed. Service was friendly. Huge menu. Try the salmon skin and tofu salad - it's one of their specialities! Also the spider in da poke... More

A Japanese friend took me there, and the place is full of connoisseurs who pick a wide variety of dishes from wide array. If you feel adventurous, order the uni shot (sea urchin with crab meat and salmon roe, with a quail egg) - one of the best Japanese dishes I have ever eaten, and pair it with Onikoroshi sake.... This restaurant is crowded for a good reason. The food is exceptional. Creative and contemporary. The service friendly and efficient. The decor interesting and fun - the menu hilarious.

Had lunch here wand would say it's among the best Japanese food I've had. Ahi Nigiri was so fresh - the tuna melted on the tongue, and the rice perfect. Mentioned it to a Honolulu local who said it was His favourite Japanese restaurant in Honolulu. I can see why.

The food is excellent and it is great to be able to enjoy such a variety of Japanese cuisine with family and friends. Whenever we take our friends and family we budget a minimum of $50.00 per person for food and sake.

The night we had dinner here, there were a lot of locals drinking and partying so the atmosphere was loud and lively, but the sushi was just so so. It's not one of the better places for sushi but if you just want to have a good time, then by all means try this place.

The food was amazing. Some of the dishes were very original. Loved the mushroom with rice/cheese dish, along with the squid pie and beef tongue skewers. I wish we had the same restaurant on the East Coast. Thank you for making our last night in Honolulu so special.

The squid pancake was excellent as usual. However, the staff did forget the sushi roll I ordered. And that's too bad because it sounded good.

In years past, I've had a sushi craving that was strong and ongoing. I looked forward to sushi at least once a week if I could afford it and could find good quality. Then my taste buds changed. The craving has faded, until now. I think Tokkuri Tei has reawakened my taste buds! I'd been to this restaurant before, but... More

Very walkable from the Waikiki strip, you wouldn't know about unless told by a local. This place was about a 15 minute walk from the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. Went for dinner, so it was dark out, the sidewalk was not very lit up, but it was along a very busy street. It was nice to get away from the... More
