On Day 2 of our trip, we wanted traditional Japanese breakfast. A short walk from our airBNB place on seaside ave., this was one of the most memorable and tasty meals of our trip. 7 am we were up and ready to explore Oahu, far from our Canadian roots, and found this place. $20 US got us quite the experience... Nineteen of us (3 generations) had a family reunion at this delightful Japanese restaurant; 7 from Tokyo, Japan and 12 from east coast of the USA. We had 7 course dinner with sake, wine or green tea. Some of us did not care too much for "sashimi" so they treated with delicious lobster dish. The each dish was tastefully and... More

I love sushi, especially authentic sushi. This stuff is as authentic as it gets, the freshest fish I've ever tasted. Definitely a hot spot, if you enjoy Japanese food and sushi.

My family loves Traditional Japanese food as we spent three weeks in Japan last year. We had a lot of dishes to share - Steamed vegetables, California rolls, salmon skin sushi, large sashimi, salmon nigiri and beef sukiyaki. Ask for help in preparation of the sukiyaki if you are unfamiliar. The service from Mayu was excellent and the Maedaen tea... More

The lunch specials are a good deal and delicious. I ordered the beef sukiyaki and it came with miso soup, salad, an assortment of radishes, rice, tea, and a small dessert. Very nice presentation and tasty. Compared to the meal I had the day before at the food court, it was a good value. Plus, I enjoyed the comfortable, quiet... More

Japanese visitors in Waikiki who want a break from American steaks and potatoes, Italian and other "fusion Pacific-Asian" fare popular in the islands have a special 'retreat' in the "hidden" Yoshiya restaurant upstairs on the second floor of the Sheraton -Waikiki hotel, the huge resort on Kalakaua Ave. Local and other diners from round the world have kept this gem... We always enjoy eating here when we stay at the Sheraton Waikiki and we are never disappointed. The food is beautifully arranged and the service is always excellent. The staff at Yoshiya are always very nice and welcoming and even remember my daughters name when they say hello. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

This is a very authentic Japanese restaurant and it is certainly one of the best in the Waikiki area. The Yoshiya is located on the second floor of the Sheraton Waikiki, and is fairly well decorated with oriental design and atmospheric lighting. About the food – we have ordered the sashimi/tempura set, Sukiyaki Gozen, Assorted Sashimi Gozen and one order... More

We didn't choose the Tatami Room, opting for comfort instead. Disposable oshibori (hot towel) was odd for the caliber of the restaurant. Sushi was excellent. Steak sets are tasty, but the steak was a pale brown color instead of grilled as I had expected. Dessert ice cream a nice end to the meal.
