This is such a funky place that we drove past it & had to double back. It was worth it if you are looking for a real southern food experience. We had grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches and fried green tomatoes. You MUST try the latter. The walls are painted many bright colors, reminding us of the islands. It is... More

Delicious catfish. One plate full of catfish, fried okra, potato wedges, & bread. Enough for two (or maybe three). Anna's Melt chicken sandwich was tasty but on the sweet side. BLT with fried green tomatoes and avocado was fantastic. No air conditioning but don't let that stop you. Worth a visit if you're passing through Vicksburg.

They make the best fruit smoothies you will ever taste. There are many varieties to satisfy anyone's taste. The burgers are really good too. Lots of fresh fruit, and the Mississippi Fever sauce is to die for.

It truly looks like a produce stand with folk art all around, but the BLTs are out I'd this world. We shared one made with homemade mozzarella and fresh basil, and each got our own bowl of soup, one seafood gumbo and one turkey vegetable. Everything was delicious, and we really enjoyed visiting with the people there. Not fast food,... More

We planned our overnight in Vicksburg based on the wish to visit The Tomato Place. We were not disappointed. Arrived just at 6pm, but they cheerfully took our food order. We had the seafood gumbo (yum), catfish platter (yum), and BLT w/fried green tomatoes and avacado (yum). Man, they put out great food from an estimated 300 square foot kitchen.... More

.... if you like this type of place. We liked it all and it was very neat. We had tuna stuffed tomato salad and a BLT salad. Both fair prices for salad, $10 but the blackberry cookie for $3 was pricey to us. The items they sell in the store/stand were high too we thought. It's a funky, unique place... More

Ignore the appearance. Passed it a couple of times and thought it was a produce stand. In checking trip advisor to find a carryout food place close by, that was not your typical chain, discovered they had sandwiches. Am I glad. They had exactly what we wanted. The blt is loaded and the kosher footlong hotdog was huge. Add fried... More

We stopped in for an early lunch on a Friday. It is easy to pass the place up if you aren't looking. We both ordered salads and it took a little while to get them, but they were good. The place was filling up before we left. We would probably stop back by if we were in the area again.

Love this place! They're known for their wonderful BLTs, which I usually order. My husband loves the catfish platter. Their tomato pie is outstanding also. In fact, I've never had a dish here that I didn't like. All our guests request another visit each time we take them here. Be sure to try their smoothies also. Their selection of smoothies... More

If you really like a BLT this place is well worth the drive. Don't be put off by the appearance. The staff and food are premium. I got the club BLT for extra tomato on my sandwich. The fries are also some of the best I have had. There are also a variety of home made goods and fresh vegetables... More
