Had dinner this past Saturday with family at the Big Trees Dining Room. Very convenient since we were staying at the Lodge. The dining room is very charming. Food was surprisingly good. I had a New York strip steak that was perfectly cooked with a bourbon glaze. The star of the evening was the pot roast. Incredibly tender and flavorful.... More

Food was delicious, service was gracious. Not sure if there are many options in the area so it was quite busy, At least you can wait in the lobby with some entertainment.

You can have cocktails on the porch while you wait for your reservation (YES make a reservation for dinner!) We ate various meals there while in the park for 4 nights. All were good to very good and only mildly up priced. We were there during staff turnover at end of month and the new team was not yet practiced.

Great food - it is a bit crowded so if you stay at the lodge, they offer reservation to guests only. Try the prime rib, loved the trout.

Yosemite N P has been neglected and mismanaged in our view. This dining service is typical of the aging and profit minded management. Food was sufficient in the dining room, but limited in menu choices.

You know the grande dame hotel you see in the 1920s movies? This hotel will take you back to that time and place. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the setting and service. If I were in the area again, I might stay at the hotel; I wouldn't eat lunch there again. My wife's luncheon salad was very good.... More

We stopped at the Big Trees Lodge on our way back from Glacier Point and had one of the best meals of our 4 day visit to Yosemite.

3 for lunch, had sandwiches. Why a 3? Tomato end on sandwich - not a likable part to eat. Average meal with fries. A little over priced in $12-15/sandwich range.

The setting of this old hotel is very nostalgic of earlier travel and the ambience of the lounge with log fire and pianist is very attractive. The dining room fits this setting but both the service and food fall short. The service was off-hand and inefficient and the food both expensive and lacklustre.

Had some of the best cream of mushroom soup and onion rings I've ever had here. The dining room and hotel parlor take you back to a time when the Pony Express serviced the area.
