From the moment we walked in, Andrew was extraordinarily hospitable and helpful. We were looking for a specific wine and vintage and although he didn't have that year in stock, he called the winery directly for us, while also providing thoughtful explanations about other nearby wineries and pointers on winery visits. We have found that Wanaka can be such a... More

John was incredibly helpful in helping me to select NZ wines, beers and soft drinks for my daughter's wedding over the phone. I wasn't familiar with the local wines he suggested and didn't have a chance to try them in advance as we were planning the wedding from the US. All his suggestions were perfect and he handled all the... More

Really nice guy, who I believe was the owner and he knows his stuff on the beers but overpriced. Nice relaxing atmosphere and recommend checking it out but 14dollars for a 500ml bottle of pale ale. Was nice but pricey

This bar and bottle store is a delight - a little slice of genuine Wanaka hospitality. John who runs it is down-to-earth, friendly and knowledgeable. He makes a point of remembering and relating to people who frequent his store. This is not an up-market bar on the waterfront. It has a bit of a view of the mountains etc, but... More

So I called in here with the intention to get some Cardrona Source Gin for my parents for Christmas. My big issue though, was that I was travelling back to the UK with it, so I asked the staff if they had any recommendations on travelling with it in hold luggage. At the time they didn't have any packaging, but... More

A unique little bar in a prime position in Wanaka. John was very hospitable and the beer was top notch. John had a great knowledge of the local wine and beers. Great spot to grab a few beers with friends

Billed as a craft beer bar and restaurant, this place is actually a bottle store with 3 taps (all Emmersons when we visited) purported to serve food, but very poor and limited menu so we passed. No atmosphere, though outside tables and shade were welcome after a hot day, and the toilets were immaculate.

I stumbled upon this store, asked a few questions about some products, and figured out I should definitely return with my husband for a glass of wine! What a great find. The owner is fabulous and a great character as well.

Great atmosphere, great host, excellent range of wines and beers, best service and a great meeting place. Go here often with friends and it is always a hit. Nice quiet place for a wine and catch up with friends and acquaintances... often meet other locals there too
