We had gelato here three days in a row while in Wanaka. The queue was a bit daunting, but suggested that it would be worth the wait, and we weren't disappointed. There was a good choice of flavours and the serving sizes were reasonable. The queueing was managed efficiently.

I don't normally eat ice cream, but the Black Peak Gelato came highly recommended to us. Black Peak Gelato have a great story; they make all their own flavours using real fruit, much of which is sourced locally. I had the pineapple sorbet and berry sorbet, whilst Taryn and the kiwifruit sorbet and the strawberry sorbet (vegan options). If you've... More

The staff who serve doesn't seemed too happy with me trying a few flavours. After the first 2 flavours which I sampled and disliked, the few other samples were very tiny and the staff looked impatient. Bought a cone with 2 flavours although I don't really like them. Overrated.

Don't bother having desert wherever you are dining in Wanaka. Come here instead, ever changing menus of Gelato at great prices

Was expecting a great gelato. Looked good but tasted very sugary and hard to distinguish between flavours. I ended up throwing it away and I love ice cream and have never done this before. The Patagonia ice cream around the corner is far better and tastier and creamier. Black peak is a tourist trap.

The title says it all. I'm a lactose-free Lady and their sorbets are one in a million delicious, with real fruit bits. Get the waffle cone ! Also the bowls aren't edible. Just for your information. Biodegradable, yes... edible, they don't taste gross but they're not actually edible. Haha! If you go to Wanaka and don't stop in there, you're... More

This is a must go to place in Wanaka - you will not be disappointed as the variety of flavours is always great. The staff are friendly and helpful and the most important thing is that the gelato is DELICIOUS !!!🍦🍧🍦

Not sure what is all the fuss about. A mainstream Tiptop ice cream has a better taste. Lots of hype. After having a cone there we had to go to Patagonia ice cream shop around the corner to taste real gelato!

We were looking forward to trying this ice cream reading all the amazing reviews, but we found it very average. I am very sad to say that and may be something can be done to have it a little creamier but we found it quite icey.
