My friend and I ordered sashimi, california maki, ramen, and bento. The sashimi's rating is 3/5. The plating was poor really poor. There were seaweed (agar-agar) on top of the sashimi and I cannot find any art on it. Next, the maki is even worse than a homemade maki. The rice used to make the maki isn't good. The texture... Seriously folks, if you like food that's prepared at noon and sitting there till their buffet starts, then it's your place....yuck. cold fried rice, cold soggy shrimp tempura , no real variety sushi (they go all out to provide you with nothing so I guess they don't have to spend money), cold veggies, cold lifeless pork, miss soup yuck, just,... We went to Mifune because my father's friend recommended a japanese resto that is serving a buffet for only 333.00. When we arrived, it was packed! Though the food was okay. I like japanese food. I visited some authentic japanese restos here at Luzon. But I guess at Mifune it was not authentic. The food was more on the pinoy... More

The quality is not the same as the sushi in Japan or the US because they use mostly local fish and not from the colder waters . But the restaurant is very clean with a friendly staff , a very nice atmosphere and some good dishes dishes .

From the outside, you're not really sure the place is as inviting as it looks. But when you go inside you find more seats to accommodate guests. Food price versus food quality wise, I would say that it's a bit pricey considering it could come off obvious that some of the ingredients aren't fresh. My tuna maki has a weird... More

Not fresh produce! Nothing authentic! Too expensive for the quality of the food! Hard to chew beef! Suchi is all rice, tiny bit of prawn that stank! I would not come here too it even for free!!

My partner and I have eaten here on numerous occasions and have always found the staff polite and welcoming. A good selection of Japanese favourites, freshly prepared and cooked to order. I can recommend this as a quite restaurant and not the usual noisey Philippine type.

Revisited Dumaguete after a 10 year hiatus. Tried Mifune for late lunch. Teriyaki salmon bento box at P390. At some time in the past, this probably was an authentic Japanese restaurant. Now, reportedly owned by a Swiss businessman. Being the only Japanese restaurant in town, by definition it is the best Japanese restaurant in town. I remember a few years... More

We went there on Tuesday buffet night and got what one can expect on these all you can eat things: food that only could be called very average at most: chewy and almost cold shrimp tempura, supermarket-style cheap sushi,... Not very memorable. Would prefer paying a bit more and get decent food.

Authentic Japanese cuisine? Nope. Too much expensive and not worth your money. Sushis and makis were horrible. Sorry but a no-go.
