Authentic family run “trattoria”, traditional and locally sourced food, a small menu which means few fresh ingredients rather then hundred of frozen ones, and a feeling of going for supper at your long lost Italian granny. Food is served in beautifully decorated plates which bear some signs of time but are a testament to the thousands they have fed. Far from a tourist trap, just a plain simple no-nonsense Pugliese meal. Can’t recommend enough!

We stayed in Puglia for just under a week at the beginning of July, and though we first approached Le Garibaldine on our first night, we were told that it was fully book. Marcella, however, took the time to fully translate the menu for us, and we returned the following evening. Both the food and the service were fantastic, and the environment felt authentic and family orientated.
We made a point of returning on our final night in Galipolli, and we were once again blown away by the food and by the treatment from each member of staff. I would be delighted to visit the restaurant again if I return to the town - it was a definite highlight during our time spent in Puglia!

We found this restaurant down a little side street about 40 minutes before it opened. We liked the look of it and whilst having a drink around the corner, checked out the reviews, which were very good.
It had a number of tables outside but very few inside, and as it was slightly chilly we wanted to eat inside and also knew it would get busy. So when it opened, we were first there and were lucky enough to be offered a table inside.
The menu was all in Italian, and the staff spoke mainly Italian, making it a very authentic experience. With some help from a translation app we managed to order the best meal of our holiday.
As expected the restaurant filled up very quickly with people waiting outside for tables, so if you're lucky enough to be in the area it's best to arrive early.
In summary, a wonderful evening at a very good restaurant.

We had already been to this restaurant and it left us with good memories. Again on holiday in Gallipoli, we returned again this year.
We booked 2 adults and 2 children one evening and, as soon as we arrived we found our table comfortable both for us and for the little ones (not everyone's attention) despite the location being in a characteristic but narrow alley in the center of Gallipoli and in the middle of August.
The menu is varied, both sea and land.
The owner is friendly and kind and the staff is fast, precise and courteous.
They make you feel at home immediately.
The dishes are well plated, the portions are generous but above all they are good!
Our choice? Some appetizers, linguine with clams and tagliolini with purple prawns: TOP (the shoe is obligatory).
To end on a high note, a small fry and a piece of cake offered by the landlady for our children.
Fair prices, highly recommended.

We had an incredible meal in le garibaldine, we had a 2 night stay in gallipoli and found many places to be quite touristy - where we wanted something more authentic and family run - le garibaldine is your best bet. For one there’s a queue down the street, and mainly Italians eating there, says it all. Food is incredible and service amazing. We had a wonderful evening and would come back in a heartbeat.

Small restaurant in the alleys of the old town, they put us in the small garden and it seemed almost an intimate and elegant place. A little unlucky who has to sit back to the wall because without a chair his back hurts. We went to September at 10pm and the service was a bit chaotic, after 20 minutes of waiting I got up to ask if possible to order, let’s say the only drawback of the evening. The menu is varied, personally I would have tasted everything so I would gladly return. We took fried octopus and bruschetta as an appetizer, recommended. The sauce of orecchiette with seafood leaves a good taste, generous portion. The squid remained a bit chewy in my mouth. Clam cuts well creamed. Prices slightly high, in the area you will find other good places to spend less but nothing to say about quality

A very friendly restaurant that is very popular. You saw people waiting outside to get a table. We had reserved a table for 6.
All the dishes ordered were very nicely presented and had great taste.
Friendly service made the meal a success. Great place to have a meal and have fun. Nothing fancy but well prepared food.

We had great expectations based on past reviews, but were quite disappointed. My orecchiette con cime di rapi was far too salty. I couldn’t finish it and mentioned the problem to the server. She just brushed me off and said it must be the anchovies. Well yes, the anchovies must have added saltiness, but if you’re going to include anchovies in a dish, surely you must have to use less added salt in preparing the dish. This is just a basic rule of cooking.
The service was haphazard - as seems to be common in Puglia.

The staff was kind but not very skilled and the cuisine was mediocre, not making the most of the ingredients. Even the spritz were poorly made. Overall, it felt like a typical tourist restaurant, and we left feeling like we wasted a meal. It’s a shame, especially considering the region is full of more authentic dining options.

Very bad experience. We booked a week in advance, we showed up and after making us wait for 20 minutes, having local acquaintances sit before us, we finally took a seat at the table. We ordered a mixed fried dish (not good at all, fish not cleaned, tasteless tuna and badly fried calamari) and a bruschetta with burrata and purple scampi (which didn't seem fresh) and it made us lose our appetite. Too bad, we expected much more

Chiara cara, ma lei pensa che un ristorante in cui bisogna prenotare una settimana prima possa avere il tempo di fare diventare vecchio il pesce? Lei si sente in diritto di giudicare la qualità del prodotto? In base a quale competenza?

We had dinner here one evening in early September. Booked in person a few nights in advance. The location is located in the center, in a side street. They have both the bistro, where we had dinner is a restaurant just ahead where they also serve dishes with fresh pasta. We had dinner outside where there are few tables. All very kind and fast in service. We took a bottle of water, two glasses of wine, two excellent appetizers, pittule and fried meatballs and two amazing and very soft octopus alla pinata, spending about 25€ each. Recommendation! If I really must give a Recommendation on what to improve, I personally do not like to receive food in very chipped dishes. But what they contained was great.

I don't usually do reviews but this place really deserves it all. We ordered 2 appetizers including a seafood salad and an octopus alla pignata, which were excellent, fresh, soft and not chewy. The service between the starter and the first courses was very fast, and was appreciated since very often if you wait a long time you could go hungry. As first courses we ordered orecchiette with seafood and tagliolini with purple shrimp, also here spectacular dishes. I highly recommend this place because it is really difficult especially in Gallipoli to find such a good and fresh seafood restaurant with a good value for money.

Great spot away from the busiest streets, Le Garibaldine is family owned and family managed. You will probably meet the owner, his wife and his daughter if you come to eat, and they will serve you some absolutely delicious pasta dishes with LOADS of shellfish, shrimps and other sea delicacies. In a city where not-so-good restaurants are legion, Le Garibaldine is well worth a visit!

This was one of the best meals we have had on our trip, which now is three weeks long. My husband had been wanting seafood and so we hit the jackpot here. We started with muscles and cherry tomatoes, then orecchiette with mixed seafood, and then a wonderful fritto misto. And the spumoni for dessert was to die for! It’s a tiny little restaurant, so you will need reservations, and they were very very kind to us. I would definitely go there again! Saluti do Linda e John!

If I could give 6 stars, I would give them all.
It really deserves a lot. Number one in the area.
Small, family-run place, and perhaps this is the secret of their magnificent cuisine.
We booked five days in advance as it is a very popular place but has few seats. When we arrived at the scheduled time, the owner (too nice and very attentive to customers) made us sit outside.
We immediately ordered seafood appetizers and Luciana-style octopus with a nice and good bottle of sparkling white wine, all with delicious flavours.
Immediately afterwards we had three plates of orecchiette with seafood and three plates of linguine with purple Gallipoli prawns.
Both dishes were really tasty, the best I've had so far.
After the meal, we stopped to talk a bit with the owner, who told us some anecdotes about the place and their cuisine.
It's so worth it, if you can go there (book in advance) because you will eat the best orecchiette and linguine you've ever eaten in your life.
With the promise to return as soon as possible!
