The ambiance is good especially the bar however the restaurant food is just not up to standard. All food served had been pre cooked and had probably been in the oven for hours. The high turnover of tables due to being a part of the HPB campus does not excuse this. We would most certainly return to the HPB Lodge... More

This is a very welcoming place, with several interconnecting rooms with open fires. The food is good and the atmosphere relaxed and warm.

We were staying in the Holiday Property Bond behind the Kings Arms so went there for food 2 night in a row. Both nights the food was good but the second night I had steak pie. it was the best pie I have ever had. If your a pie fan you got to try it!! The pub its self is... More

Have visited Askrigg several times and each time have been for meals to The Kings Arms or 'Drovers Arms'. We either eat in the bar area (dogs are allowed and are always well behaved) or in the restaurant and portions are good. Like the vegetables and chips/potatoes are served in separate dishes.

We were recommended to book a table on a Saturday pm and were glad we took this advice as the restaurant was full 7.30 pm. We were warned that we would have to wait 10-15 minutes extra for our food once ordered, as they were busy, but it did not feel like a long time. The menu was varied with... More

We ate here on Christmas Day....the food, service and atmosphere were fabulous - we have already booked again! We have brought friends and family to eat here - no one has ever complained about the quality of food or the level of service - indeed quite the opposite. The fish is exceptional...cooked to perfection! Sunday Lunch is superb...can't wait to... More

Taking the opportunity for a cheeky overnight visit with my other half in the Yorkshire Dales, the B&B we had checked into recommended a visit into Askrigg for 'good pub food'. We visited all three pubs which each had individual 'dales' character.... and ate in the Kings Arms. The meal was very disappointing indeed..... we ordered a sharing platter for... More

Staying nearby, we had dinner here this week. We were impressed by the atmosphere of the bar which was of traditional decor. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were there for dinner only and the meal itself was excellent. We would certainly recommend this place for dining.

Kings Arms is part of Holiday Property Bond but the catering is independent, so open to anyone, and really good. Had dinner on 2 nights, both great. Friendly staff, good beer lots of character in the premises.

Really disappointing! After our visit I am surprised the holiday property bond affiliate themselves with this place. On our arrival the girl behind the bar was extremely unwelcoming and barely managed to bring over the scruffy looking Sunday lunch menu. We had our two year old daughter with us but no mention on the menu of children's portions, we had... More
