This is a MUST restaurant if you are in Tepoztlan, not only is the food great but they have an amazing view. Try to go during sunset. Order pastel de elote, chile nogada (in season)

This is a very nice place located a few steps from downtown Tepoztlan. Fantastic dishes they have here. We ordered several dishes and shared all of them: escamoles, tower of nopales with huitlacoche and goat cheese, poblano cheese filled with crab and plantain, bathed with...More

There are many restaurants in Tepoztlan, offering a wide variety of culinary styles. There are some which are well publicized, and announced as the best of the best, but in the end, they are just popular yet expensive places to eat "artificial" Mexican food. El...More

If you want an excellent Mexican cuisine experience at Tepoztlan, you've got to this restaurant. We went to eat at different local places but you can tell that at el Ciruelo there's a chef!!

My wife and I enjoyed a pleasant Sunday lunch in the courtyard of El Ciruelo. The setting with the outstanding vegetation and dramatic views of the mountains is quite nice. We all shared a group of botanos but highlighted by the marlin tacos and goat...More

We visited at around 9 pm and may have overstayed our welcome. Their wine list is great and the food is amazing! Even though there was a storm outside, the place felt so calm and at peace. A definite must when in Tepoz!

Great cuisine! great restaurant. Hand made tortillas a little to thick to my taste but delicious anyway! This is fine dining in the heart of Tepoztlan, give it a go!

I would not think that typically reservations are needed on Fridays. It's really the best strategy you go there either as early as 1pm or - if you are before in Tepoztlan - you pass once by and make a reservation.
