This was one of our favorite bars. We heard the food was good, but never ate there. Bartenders were real good and this place was uncrowded. It's a lil out of the way, so i'm assuming that's y it doesn't get the tourist foot traffic. But it's better that way. Def go check it out. Margarita Zapata was great. Beers... More

Most of the dishes are grilled here, especially seafood. I had the fish tacos, and the fish and other fillings were fresh and well prepared. It's also nice to sit "outside" but not on the street. There was live music, too, when I was there. There were quite a few families with small children, and some of those kids run... More

The arrachera (flank steak) from Viva Zapata was pretty much the greatest thing I ate during my entire Mexico vacation. Watch out for mosquitos, though!

We loved Viva Zapata and visited several times during our trip for both lunch and supper. The restaurant is in a wonderful location on a side street in the heart of town. It has a wonderful atmosphere including a bar that serves up one of the best margaritas on the island! I love that Viva Zapata has an open grill... More

The owner is a fisherman almost by compulsion and he brings fresh fish to the restaurant on a daily basis. They grill it to perfection and serve it with delicious sides at remarkable prices. The place for fresh fish in a fishing village. What more could I say.

We were so looking forward to the stone crab claws. We did have to wait for a seat, but it was high season, but it took almost as long to get a drink as it took to get our table, 20 mins. The Stone crab plate came with unflavored white rice and an odd, undressed (although they did have olive... More
