The cuisine was fine, basic Mexican food. However, the mole was too rich for my tummy. Order the basics.

From the overall vibe, Rosa Mexicano is a very un-Holbox restaurant unless you are maybe a young backpacker. The roughhewn wooden deck opens onto the street rumbling with golf carts and motorbikes, while the electronic Europop soundtrack pulses in the background. The swing seats at the bar (not unique on Holbox) are quite cute and the restaurant offers a very... More

We stopped here on our third night on the island as I had read good things about the coconut shrimp.. after both reading the menu we decided we had to have them and both ordered the same and 2 mango caipirinha's which were delicious. A very nice setting, great for people watching and the restuarant has a really nice vibe.... More

I will first start with the fact that our server was very nice, the atmosphere was good and the space was clean. The food unfortunately was terrible. We ordered an app...it seemed to be a stale corn tortilla with a beef ceveiche? Not so good, oh well on to the next course. Ordered the octopus with corn salasa. I was... More

We read some great reviews of Rosa Mexicano and we were really excited to eat dinner here. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. Maybe it was an off night--they seemed very understaffed. Drinks took at least fifteen minutes to order and receive. We enjoyed the QUESO fundido (though not as much as the one at Viva Zapata), but the other... More

Delicious food options and cocktails for a great price. We enjoyed a variety of options on the menu and enjoyed everything immensely. Highly recommended!

Great location - 1/2 a block off the plaza. Good-average Mexican local food, but not spectacular or memorable. The tables and chairs were a bit rickety

I tried Rosa Mexicana becauuse La Guaya had closed. I had the Coconut shrimp and iot was OK not great. The waiter was quite rude, for no discernible reason. No reason to return so many other great places to eat on Holbox.

This was the first place we ate in Holbox and it was a great experience. The food was made with love and care and we really enjoyed it. The second time had a different chef and team and we found a long wait and very undercooked steak. I imagine during peak season, this place would be great with the high... More
