We visited the restaurant on our way back to Merida. The pierna was excellent and reminded me of the pierna tia abuela made on Christmas. The kids ordered the enchiladas suizas and tacos de cochinita, both with good flavors. Our favorite was the longiniza my husband ordered. Even my daughter who usually does not like sausage or chorizo, asked for... More

Popped in for a couple of cold beers while in the town and went back in the evening for food, very helpful and friendly staff. Ask about why the restaurant is called its name.

the food was ok but nothing special. for Mexican standards the portions were rather small. there was a bad smell in the air (probably coming from the toilets)

We came to El Toro as a dinner spot handy to the Sound And Light show at the Convento. At 7:00pm, we were the only customers. The TV was blaring a soccer game, which spoiled the atmosphere. But here is not much of that. Paper placemats and serviettes. No candles or anything else on the tables. It is a "mom... More

This restaurant served mostly Mexican food . The menu was quite large and the meal was very tasty. Plates were reasonably priced and portions were very generous.

Very well located, overlooking izamal main attraction - St Antonio convent - El Toro offer a good local option for a quick lunch. Main traditional dishes are offered and all good for us and generous portions. Fresh limonade was very tasty, only disappointment was désert, not home-made and with little interest. Plenty of good options for désert under the neighbouring... More

A nice, local, economical place to dine on typical Yucatecan food. My husband and I have eaten there many times, especially when we first moved to Izamal.

Our most expensive & worst experience in Yucatan. Arrived around 9pm in the restaurant, our dinner was rythmed by the 'ding' of our microwaved food. A shame. Tasteless dishes. An insult to mexican gastronomy. Next time please advise your customer when the kitchen is closed.

This is one of the few places in town that you can get free wifi. Not fancy, but the food is good, and the service very friendly.
