We had a nice experience with this restaurant. We had 5 different meals. The sea bass was very good, the beef tenderloins were also quite good (from San Jose), but unless you "love" grilled octopus, you might find it to be a very large portion. Service and ambiance was very nice. Traveling with 3 "twenty somethings" who all enjoyed their... More

We decided to eat at this spot 2x for dinner, the only place we repeated for dinner and we were not disappointed! The vibe, atmosphere, and energy of the staff was very cool, laid back, real, but with a sense of urgency as well. The drinks were perfect and creative, with a nice wine list. The food menu was great... More

This is one of the first places we go when we arrive in Santa Teresa. They always have an outstanding menu of unique and interesting fusions and can modify to meet special diets. Very friendly and welcoming service.

We have already gone here twice this week and the food is fantastic. Authentic Italian! The yellowfin tuna was seared perfectly and the canelli bean sauce was delicious. The caprese salad comes with a full ball of mozzarella and is seasoned perfectly. Specials change regularly but I have yet to have something that was not delicious. The chocolate banana brownie... This is our second time in Santa Teresa, and this restaurant is our favorite in town. It is family owned and all the staff are incredibly kind and attentive. The atmosphere is lovely and the drinks are made with the freshest ingredients. All the dishes are simple yet creative, never hiding the natural beauty of the ingredients. We have already... More

This was probably the best meal that we ate in Costa Rica. We ordered drinks, that were unique and delicious (ginger mohito?! YUM!) The meal both looked and tasted beautiful. We were brave and tried the bull ball ravioli, BEST part of the meal! I was impressed with the freshness of the menu, the options (just choosing what to eat... More

We have a home in the area and have tried many restaurants but Al Chili Viola is our favorite. Luz and Amiliano are wonderful hosts and the food is consistently outstanding. They do seafood and meats to perfection and the homemade pasta is fantastic. On our last visit my wife had Sea bass and I had crusted tuna. The fish... More

It's been about 18 months since I've had the pleasure of dining at Al Chile Viola. The food and service are still amazing. I had my standby, bulls balls ravioli, and my husband had giant prawns, that were accurately described! As always the service was friendly and prompt. We will be sure to return.

We are staying in the Santa Teresa/Mal Pais area for a week and have been really impressed with the quality of the restaurants here. This is one of the places we visited and really liked. The night we went there was a guitarist playing and singing which added to the nice ambiance. The waitresses are all very attentive and the... More

Hands down our favorite restaurant while visiting Costa Rica. Do not miss their Tuna tartar marinated in olive oil and passion fruit served in this really cool "cone" with shaved almond, avocado and wasabi mouse. I tried almost everything from pear and pecorino salad (what the hell is a percoino? Good! That's what.) to Bull Ball ravioli and I don't... More
