Charming place to go for great food and great service. I would certainly recommend trying the stewed lamb shank.

When we arrived for our meal the manager was watching something on his tablet and had to be prompted by the chef to seat us, his response was 'what do you want me to do about it?' His appearance was unprofessional and slovenly. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We have eaten... More

Our dinner was OK, but didn't live up to expectations. My goats' cheese salad was simply lettuce, tomatoe, etc and crumbled goats' cheese. (I had been hoping for something a bit special, not something I could have knocked up at home in ten minutes, and would have loved warm melted goats' cheese.) My husband's rissotto was fine but not special.... More

Very well-situated close to the castle and cathedral. Restaurant has an old-fashioned appearance but the food was delicious with some clever modern touches also beautifully presented. Gluten-free choices clearly indicated on the menu.Pleasant and efficient service. Good value set menu lunch.

Had a gorgeous roast dinner, roast pork with a bowl full of crackling. Delicious gravy followed by bread n butter pudding which was scrummy. Quirky comfortable surroundings. The waitresses are always so sweet & attentive.

Really lovely waitresses from Poland who know what service should make you feel like... special and well looked after. I had a very tender and decent portion of roast beef with a lovely jus and trimmings. Started with a parfait and brioche and finished with a chocolate torte all nicely presented. My only observation was the owner (pleasant enough) but... More

This is my third visit to the Atrium for Sunday lunch. Each time it is a little bit quirkier but that is part of the appeal. Fantastic roast beef followed by bread and butter pudding for me, apple crumble for hubby. Polite waitresses and even the chef puts in an appearance when the rush dies down ... if you want... More

Visited for lunch before a cinema trip. Chose not to have a starter. Main was oa Barbary duck leg with veg and chips. The leg was beautifully cooked and the meat just fell off the bone. Dessert was roasted plums in port with clotted cream. It was sensational. Apparently the toilets were ice cold too. Chef served the dessert herself... More

Reviews are up and down for the Atrium and I'm the first to agree - previous visits have had great food, weird courses, arguments with the owner, ignorant service. I'm giving this visit 5/5 as this was a pre Christmas booking for four upstairs in a packed venue - considering the smallish kitchens, the cook-to-order came at a good period... More
