We read about this place in the Lonely Planet and decided to give it a try. It was really dark, I don't know if the power was out (I didn't see any lamps hanging) or if it was just that way. The only light we had was of the candle at our table, but it was charming. It took quite... More

i have a house in Jambiani--four doors from the Seahorse. This is a really nice little restaurant run by a charming local man. I passed there a few nights ago--and heard a loud and rowdy group of diners--who had moved down onto the beach. That must be the group with Shimelka--see his review. I saw Zube the next door and... We very much enjoyed our meal at the Sea Horse. It offers local cuisine in a setting for which some tourists may find uncomfortable with. The host was lovely and friendly but had to deal with some rowdy and impatient customers (see Daphe010's comment) who ended up fighting each other when they left. An embarrassment for any fellow tourist. Would... More

Visited here for dinner in a group of 7 & was told that food would be ready in an hour. We had a beer whilst we waited & we're comfortable with the set timelines. It took 2.5 hours for all of the food to arrive and the quality of the food was dreadful. The service was very poor, food was... More

Waited 2 hours for bland food. Avoid at all cost!!! Terrible food with moaning staff. Really don't get why this is any guide. Worst food and service anywhere!

Charming atmosphere, reminds me of Jambiani the way it was beore tourism exploded! Delicious food at good prices. The chef/owner is busy cooking, and it may take some time, but if you don't want to wait-you can preorder or go for a swin meanwhile waiting.

The sea horse offers decent food at a price that seams a bit lower than most surrounding restaurants. The owner is very relaxed and friendly. See food cury with rice was good, as well as the octopus salad. My advice for the owner:Maje waiting time a bit shorter and portions a bit larger. Overall, one of the places to visitor... More

We walked into this beach shack expecting something not necessarily fine but fresh. Well, freshness is the only quality we find. Despite being the only group, we (two people) waited for an hour and a half for our lunch. Service is non-existent; whenever we asked when the food would be ready, the staff just repeated "pole pole" then "almost ready."... More

See horse was cheapest place we've found at White Sands. Unfortunately it affected quality - our good was dry and portions were quite small.
