Good overall however as stated earlier a very disappointing breakfast. We were in France for twelve days and this was by far the most disappointing of the breakfasts offered.

The restaurant looks lovely. We chose the 29.50€ menu as we wanted salt marsh lamb (3€ suppl) and love it cooked rose' like the French. We had a delicious amuse bouche, piping hot little cup of tasty soup. I then had fish soup which was...tepid, and the rouille had soft little lumps of something in it. I could not decide what. The lamb was tough , and sinewy. I should have sent it back but tried to cut round it.....from what was left on the plate it was clear it had not been good. The waiter blamed the butcher/supplier rather than being apologetic we had had a poor meal. A choice of pudding was offered but we preferred the puddings on the menu. At check out only the supplement had been discounted. When I queried this politely they then gave us an additional 3 € each off the menu. And fortunately we noticed that they had charged us for breakfast 26€. !we choose Logis de France because the restaurants are usually very good. This time we were unlucky.More
Really enjoyed the food, plenty of fresh local produce cooked and presented very well but oh the service was painfully slow, seated for a good 20 minutes before a drinks order was taken and a further 20 minutes for the food order, the first course...arriving 30 minutes later, chaotic servers bringing another tables main course to us whilst we were still enjoying our starters, after looking at our empty starter plates for 20 minutes I cleared them myself. Thankfully things speeded up a little from then on but the waiting staff lacked charisma and any sense of what they were doing which somewhat spoiled the moment. Had the waiting staff been on the ball I would most likely have given five stars but the lack of pace and charisma has resulted in three stars.More
Our destination after a long day cycling. I had the moules and they were superb I know we are tired after a long day but everything has been very very good. Only small issue would be the room and I particular the shower being very...small. Otherwise excellent.More
Quite average in everything: food, service, atmosphere and price. There for sure are better places around in that area. But have to say: we were a group of almost 20 people and they managed us well.
We went on Sunday lunch, and they were very busy, so was a bit slow. But our list of complaints: Wrong sauce served with steaks. Waiter advised that this is the sauce today, but the menu states different, and not advised at ordering. Over cooked...steak. (Very reluctantly they recooked another) Tough steak Could not wait any longer, we'd been in restaurant 3 hours, so paid & left before deserts. But biggest complaint is no-one of any authority seem to care that we were upset, and wanted to walk out. Will never return.More
Smell of stale food everywhere, food poor, cold, tough and fatty and served on cold plates, expensive for what it was.
We got there at 1.00 got food about 3.00 ,no apoogies ,one steak was ordered rare with bearnaise got overdone wit with peper sauce We left before sweets and negotiated a discount ,but that is beside the point as nobody enjoyed it Ok it was...very busy but they should not overbook We have a holiday house at le Crotoy ,we will never returnMore
A very nice location with great countryside views, very conveniently located on the way to and from the Parc de Marquenterre bird sanctuary. Nice, small countryside building well kept and restored (but for stains on the inside wall, which make the place look dirtier than...it likely is). Even the background music is less intrusive than in most restaurants we tried in the area, which is welcome. We could eat there at 3 PM, which is extremely convenient and well out of standard restaurant serving times, much appreciated. The lowest price menu, at 19 Euro, was good value for money as we were little hungry and would have dinner soon, still were happy to try some near-local food, simple and still a bit more sophisticated than bistro/pub/fast food. We had a nice terrine de campagne as one of the starters and pleasant fish in a creamy sauce with vegetables and salicornes (local seaweed) as the main course. The menu suggested the sauce for the fish was made from mussels, shrimps and salicornes again. This is perfectly possible, provided salicornes were much less than required to give a green hue to the otherwise light yellow sauce, and mussels and shrimps have no taste. Might as well have called it a cream sauce and leave it at that. The one silly, pointless surprise was in the second starter. A shrimp salad (salade de crevettes) included surimi. This is a processed food I consider completely free from gastronomic value and best left out of any recipe as it adds no value and takes away some. Why would any restaurant, however low cost and simple, add something that detracts from the flavor and quality of its dishes? And this is clearly a bit more sophisticated than that.More
We took prawn salad and fish soup as first course and both plates were very good. Second course was Bouchots mussels and leg of lamb from salt meadows. The lamb was delicious. Mussels were very good For dessert we had chocolate mousse and we were...a little bit disappointed. So clearly, focus on the lamb from salt meadows which is typical for this region. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, I definitely recommend this resaturant if you are in the region of Baie de Somme.More
We had a meal in this restaurant recently, we were a party of seven and didn't have a reservation. Staff were very friendly and patient with our poor french. The food was fine for the price and the desert buffet was a bonus for the...children. I would recommend this restaurant for a reasonably priced meal.More
on June 4th at about 8pm, after a short visit in 'le crotoy', we called this restaurant which was on our way back to Fort Mahon. The man on the phone was very polite and helpul (he explained how to get to the auberge. We...chose 'à la carte': magret de canard and tarte fine aux pommes accompanied with a half medoc 'grand cru'.The service was very quick and we really enjoyed the food. Beautiful presentation, fresh vegetable and good cooking for the meat. All the people around us appreciated their meal and congratulated the chef. So did we and talked to the team before leaving.I could say they really took care of their customers and did their best to satisfy them .We'd like to go back and taste the local salt marsh lamb.More
we stayed one night at this hotel. the room is overpriced. the area is quiet but only till 9AM when the housekeeper starts cleaning the rooms. She slams the doors and walks so heavily we could not enjoy our time in bed. we decided to...have early lunch at this place. by 11:30 we sit at a table in the dining room. the staff explained to us that the service starts at 12AM and that the order would be taken by then. 12AM a big group entered the restaurant and filled the major room. after a while I understand we were already forgotten. I stood up and went up stream to the cashier to ensure we got our order taken. the waiter came immediately but our order landed on the table 45 minutes later. no word, no excuse. the table next to us was taken care worse than us. the food was ok and prices are reasonable but no creativity. the bad services spoils the mood to enjoy the food. one positive point about the spoon in chocolate that comes along the creme brulee.More
Excellent choice, reasonably priced and A+++ service. Worth a detour if you are not staying at the Auberge
Great atmosphere as the restaurant was full despite the islation of the auberge which is a testamony to the quality of the food. Their Armagnac is to die for, and the Muscadet-sur-lies recommended. Local samphire, cooked or pickled, features in the menus, and local salt...marsh lamb is on the menu.More
