Wonderful menu with Asian influences. 4 of us had lunch, we all ordered different things and all of us shared. All very good choices. Very pleased. Then to finish off we shared 2 puddings which were fantastic. Delicious sorbet and chocolate pot. Naughty but nice! The best was the staff, they were some of the nicest we have encountered. The... We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Kota Kai - beautiful plump mussels, stunning fish with samphire , selection of cheeses , very nice wine . We were particularly impressed by the hostess who greeted us and looked after us during a meal . She was bright and friendly inspite of it being a very busy festival service. Porthleven food festival... More

Ate lunch here - and it was fantastic!!!!!! I had a Ramen type broth (so much flavour!) with veggie pancake-rice rolls and seasoned rice whilst Ken had Cheeseburger with chips. So nice to be able to satisfy opposing palettes :D - and brilliant service. Thanks!

Sitting on the comfy settee in Kota Kai on a beautiful sunny day in Porthleven is just delightful. I am here drinking a chilled glass (or two) of nytimber and have just eaten the most delicious mussels. Here you can have them served Thai style - lemongrass coconut and hint of chilli - I have to say it knocks the... More

A wonderful find at Porthleven Harbour, great food - tempura oysters w/wasabi mayo and crab sandwiches accompanied by a great Mojito or two! Super friendly service. Well worth a visit.

I've been here before and had no problem with eating there again. Last time was a work's Christmas function and this time was a quiet meal with a friend. It's located overlooking the harbour with plenty of parking nearby. BU there is stairs to get into the main restaurant, sorry but I didn't notice if they had disabled access facilities.... More

Kota Kai occupies the whole of the top floor of Celtic House and has unbeatable views across Porthleven harbour and beyond. Almost every table in the restaurant benefits from these views as the tables run alongside the many windows at the front of the building. The food is simpler than at Kota (our big sister restaurant), but all great quality using local ingredients and there is a fantastic variety of dishes including oysters, mussels, steak, burger and Asian dishes. We also have a selection of 'mini Kai', i.e. small plates such as salt & pepper squid, beef carpaccio, ham & cheese croquettes and mini fishcakes.
