Very good cafe/restaurant- delicious sandwiches and sausage roll. Daily specials sounded great. Varied and interesting wine and craft beer choices. Friendly waiting staff. Highly recommended

If you just like quality coffee in a nice environment this place tops my league. Yes, there's a magnificent deli...chips...cake etc - but today we just went in for a coffee treat - and this is what Mannions gave us.

Just round the back of the main square, with a nice little gravelled sitting area next to a stream from which to watch the world go by... Smashing looking goodies and a lovely upstairs room if the weather's inclement. Probably the best place in town...

Andrew's first cafe/bistro in York is an institution, and the cafe in Helmsley is now a regular for everyone visiting and living in the area who loves amazing food and coffee. Look out for Head Chef Dale's specials, they are really fabulous.

Attracted by the cakes in the window so popped in and had the best breakfast/brunch I’ve eaten. Devilled avocado and rarebit with bacon which was incredible. Made by a team who looked like they were all chefs and not just some guys in a kitchen....More

Decided to try Mannion & Co because our previous favourite Helsmley bruncher/light luncher has closed and is now an Italian restaurant. The place was busy but the staff were friendly and helpful and directed us to a table and pointed out the food menus on...More

Stopped by for lunch. Had the sausage roll platter - home made sausage roll, piquant green salad and homemade chuckney. To say it was good would be an understatement. My wife had the traditional egg sandwich with salad and loved it. Will be visiting there...More

New to me - Manion & Co immediately offers a real touch of something just that bit different. There are two cafe Blackboards - a Specials' one with unusual combinations that truly whet the appetite & an equally obscure Sandwich board. Apparently Manions are also...More

Description
Our welcoming bistro cafés, delicatessen and bakeries in York & Helmsley, have a distinctly European feel. We fuse French and Italian cuisine seamlessly with the best that Yorkshire has to offer (and my goodness that is good!). Mannion's could be mistaken for a bustling backstreet Parisian café, if it weren't for the Yorkshire sausage rolls, English loose-leaf teas and, of course, the wonderful cakes & patisseries.
