Good surroundings, quick, efficient service, good quality food. Luckily, we booked a table for 2000 (they have 2 shifts: 1800 and 2000) because they were turning away walk-ins - and this was a Monday!

One of the best meals we have had in a long time service was very quick and friendly our waitress was lovely. The food is amazing and plentiful. We had our little dog with us and it wasn't a problem as its a dog friendly...establishment. I would highly recommend. This place is amazing.More

Stopped in for a brew while our room was readied at the inn next door. Friendly folks, and helpful. We decided to peruse the menu with the thoughts of coming back later for a meal and when we asked, we were advised that a reservation...was a must. Returned at the appointed time and again, friendly folks, efficient service, good food, and a nice hybrid ambience of character pub and modern decor. For the record, clientele was across the board, (we are seniors), so don't get the ageism criticism alluded to in other reviews.More

walked into the place and before we had gone two steps a female bar tender spoke very quickly, think she asked 'what you want to drink'. Replying ' don't know ' not having time to check out their beers. Before we got sat down 'food...only served at the bar for parties of two' was her follow up line 'larger groups can only sit at the tables', even though the majority sat were in two's. We did have a drink, over priced, then was asked rather sharply if we were eating. My reply 'not sitting at the bar on high stools', as we are in our seventies with mobility problems Only two more seniors arrived and had to sit at the bar for food. When we left after 1.30pm not one person had been seated on any of the vacant tables (at least 25 covers). Very good at turning away customers, as there are few places to eat in Mallaig many have little choice.More

Recommended by the lady in the post office opposite. Amazing food with great service. Fisherman's platter with pickled egg, just awesome, couldn't eat it all, well done, will recommend to anyone I can.

One of those places you find by accident, but glad we did! Our party size was 8 and they were able to cater for us straight away… Extremely friendly and welcoming! The main menu didn’t really have to many vegan options, but the chef personally...came out to our table and offered some options that he would be happy to cook, and both individuals thought their meal was delicious 🤤 I had the haggis for the first time, and in batter… couldn’t of asked for a better meal, grand ❤️ Highly recommended for that first, personal experience when visiting the area… all round service and quality of food first class 🔥More

We ate here three evenings whilst staying at Mallaig Glamping Pods. We did book ahead as Mallaig can be busy. The staff were friendly and very efficient. Food was delicious every time. Only complaint is you can’t leave a tip on card machine, it is...cash only tips, which is a shame as the staff would, I think, benefit a lot if this could be done.More

Took the Jacobite train which stopped in Mallaig and we had lunch at the Chlachain Inn restaurant. We both had the chicken breast dish which came with mash potatoes, and vegetables. Both the food and service were excellent.

Perfectly cooked mussels, truly delicious venison steak, decent prices, efficient service and kind, chatty waitress. Thumbs up. Sad that all the above ve are so unusual in tourist Scotland.

This place is super popular and rightly so. Make sure you phone ahead. We didn't buy the staff managed to find us a place at the bar to eat where we spent a couple of very enjoyable hours watching how this place runs. It's super...slick and very well run. The staff work hard and seem to enjoy it! Food was great and very reasonably priced. Good beer too.More
